Hot dog day proceeds go towards field trips
BLYTH - On April 3 the Blyth Public
School held a hot dog day ending with a
dance. The Grade 2 class and their families
brought the desserts and Mrs. Kolkman was
in charge of sales.
Proceeds from hot dog day go toward field
trips and purchases of special supplies.

Choir Visits Huronview
On April 2, the senior choir performed for
the residents of Huronview. The students
sang familiar songs and recited their prize
winning oral speeches.

Fluffy Feathered Friends
The kindergarten class has been doing a
study on farm animals. To add excitement
to the study, Mr. Marsh brought 10, four-
day -old chicks into the classroom on Friday.
Nathan Hubbard said they were cute and
soft and they looked funny. He also thought
they made a lot of noise.
James Lair said they were cute, soft, nice
and cuddly and he liked petting them and he
liked the noise.

Ten tables in play for last WI euchre

LONDESBORO - There were 10 tables in
play for the last session of WI euchre for this
season on April 3.
June Fothergill had the ladies' high while
Rachel Reihl had the lone hands. Helen
Lawson had the low.
For the men Harvey Dolmadge had the
high, Allen Shaddick had the lone hands and
Eric Anderson had the low Score.
United Church News
Greeting members to the United Church
on April 5 were Rev. Snihur and Nick Whyte.
The ushers were Nick Whyte, Jack Lee, Don
McGregor and Len Archambault.
Rev. Snihur gave the call to worship and
the following announcements. The regular,
junior and men's choir practice will be held
on April 8 at 7:30 p.m. The UCW meeting
will be held on April 13 at 1:30 p.m. There
will be dessert and a silent auction. The
thankoffering will be held '(Tr April 12 in
Blyth. Grace Pymn will be the guest
speaker. The junior youth group will meet
on April 9 at 6 p.m.
For children's time they sang a song. Rev.
Snihur told them about raw eggs and hollow
ones. The junior leader was Caron Snihur.
The anthem was -sung with choir leader
Marsha Szusz and organist Deanna Lyon.
The sermon was then given.
April 12 will be Palm Sunday, when
several members will be received into the
church.
Personals
A speedy recovery is wished to Dora Shob-
brook, Reta Kelland and Ruth Shaddick who
are patients in Clinton Public Hospital.
Song Fest
A large crowd attended the seventh an-
nual Song Fest -here on April 5.
Bill Bromley was at the door, and the
ushers were John Hoggart and Ed Salverda.
The master of ceremonies was Rev. Dave
Snihur and the organist was Deanna Lyon.
The pianist was Marsha Szusz.
After 0' Canada was sung, a number of
groups gave an enjoyable concert. They in-
cluded: Londesboro Junior Choir; The Pro-
uty Family; Just Plain Folk; The King's
Messengers; The Scott Family; Bryon and
Brent Howatt.
A hymn was sung, and John Jewitt played
the. bagpipes accompanied by Barb
Bosman.

The evening closed wititahymn and lunch
was provided after the concert.
The Board of Stewards would like to thank
all those taking part the concert, both per-
formers and the audience. Special thanks to
Elgin Penfound for arranging the evening.
Explorers make blanket

LONDESBORO - On April 1 the Explorer
girls went to Huronview to visit their
adopted Grandmothers. The five first year
girls met their grandmothers for the First
time. The girls had their lap blanket finish-
ed, so, after getting reaquainted. and show-
ing off their new sashes with their stars on.
Mary Gibbings made the draw for the knit-
ted lap throw. Shelley Merner's grand-
mother, Pat Thurlow, was the lucky winner.
Cupcakes and juice were served by Cheri
Taylor, Angela Horbanuik and Kelly
Bosman. The girls ended their visit by tak-
ing their grandmothers back to their rooms
from the auditorium.
