4-11 Club
The fifth meeting of Londesboro's 4-H
Club was held at home of Elizabeth Lawson.
The All Greasers split up into groups and
each group did one activity. The six ac-
tivities covered, were washing dishes, look-
s, ing after the refrigerator, vacuuming, safe-
ty in the kitchen, prevention of cuts, falls
and bruises and prevention of food born
illnesses.
They then held a discussion on all of those
subjects.
Shana Lee Ten Hag and Marilyn
Mayberry showed the members how to
replace a plug on a lamp or small appliance.
Meeting six w discussed and the
meeting was closed ,

Pat Pitkin, David and Christopher from
Aurora spent a few days last week with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns.
A large number from Londesboro attend-
ed the open house on March 22 at Huronview
for Charlotte Bell in celebration of her 95th
birthday.
John Cartwright attended the Toc ALPHA
convention at Leaside United Church in
Toronto over the weekend.
Mr. and • Mrs. Ken Scott, Billy Jim,
Christie, Shannon and Jean Scott spent last
week on vacation in Los Angeles, California.
Jean visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scott in
Esconida.
Bob and Audrey Thompson and Dorothy
McCluskie visited on March 22 with the
family of Clarence Gowing at the
Palmerston Funeral Home.
Beth Knox and Hazel Watkins attended
the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Maloney (Madelon Townsend) in
Seaforth on March 21.
Muriel Millson and Patricia of Woodstock
spent March 22 with her mother Dora Shob-
brook. They were also visiting on this day
with Thelma Ellerby, Dorie and Curtis
Black and Chastity Colquhoun of Clinton.
Ruth Shaddick and Trudy Pollard return-
ed home on March 22 after spending a week
vacationing in California and Las Vegas.
Ray and Beth Radford of London visited
on March 22 with her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Thompson, and his parents Mr. and

Hallett Council sends
employees back to school
HULLETT TWP - At their regular
meeting on March 3 council here voted to
send three village employees to specialized
courses.
Jim Johnston will be attending the Ander-
son Road School and Ian Hulley will go to
the Mahoney Road School. The drainage
superintendent will be attending a drainage
course in Kitchener.
Council' voted to advise the. planning
department that they would like to see the
set backs for some properties changed. This.
change would see the set backs changed
from 90 or 60 metres to 30 metres.
A motion was passed 'to have the clerk
pend a letter to the Mini.t' ' of Not,o- i1
Resources regarding putting up signs to
wake it easier to find the Hullett Wildlife
Area. A few years ago the Ministry of
Transportation and Communicatio,ns vetoed
the idea of this sign posting, but the
township hopes to see some sort of signs put
in place.
The road superintendent was instructed to
invite tenders for supply, crush and spread
of 25,000 cubic yards of A gravel. Tenders
have to be in the township office by 5 p.m. on
April 7.
A motion to pay the Maitland Valey Con-
servation Authority their share for 1987 was
also carried by council.
WI discuss group aims

WALTON - Lori -Ann Schmidt, board,
member of the FWIO (Federated Women's
Institute of Ontario), along with Jean
Mathers, former board member of the
FWIO, were guests at the Walton Women's
Institute meeting on March 18 in the hall.
They participated in the program when
Marjorie Humphries had a panel telling of
all the objectives in the levels of the
Women's Institute.
The panel consisted of Helen Craig giving
the Branch level and Leona McDonald the
District level. Marjorie Humphries gave
facts of the Federation representative.
Mary Humphries spoke of the work of the
1 FWIC and Jean Mathers told of the ACWW
and their world wide work.
Helen Craig presided for the meeting.
Marjorie Humphries was pianist., Margaret
Shortreed read minutes followed by several
items of correspondence and the financial
statement. Fourteen members- answered
the roll call: Name an office or an office
held in FWIO.
Mary Humphries of the nominating com-
mittee presented the slate of officers for the
coming year. The Huron -East annual
meeting will be held, on May 12 at
Molesworth Presbyterian Church.
Marion Godkin and Helen Craig made
plans for the birthday party on Thursday at
the Callander Nursing Home in Brussels.

The next euchre game is set for March 26
in the hall. Hostesses are Berva Watson and
Marion Godkin and Annie Reid.
The next noon luncheon will be on the
third Wednesday of the month as usual, this
time pork will be served.
The annual meeting is to be held that
evening when it was voted to go to the
Golden Lantern in Brussels for the supper.
A meeting is to follow when all convenors
are to have their reports written out.
April 20 has been set for the planning
meeting at 7:30 p.m. to plan meetings for
the corning year.

Jason Pennington, of Goderich, visited
with his grandparents, Allan and Alice
Searle for a few. days during the Spring

Viola Kirkby spent a few days last week in
Toronto visiting relatives.
Kristen Docken, Dorchester spent a few
last week with Pam Nolan.
Clint and Judy Emmrick entertained
relatives on Sunday, present were his sister
Janie and her husband Walter, Kitchener
