WALT(JN - The March meeting of .the
Walton United Church Women was held
Wednesday evening in the church basement
with Walton II unit in charge of devotions.
Karen Hoegy led the devotions assisted by
Helen Craig and Marilyn McDonald.
Dorothy Sholdice second vice-president,
took over the business and an open invita-
tion was extended to everyone to attend.the
U.C.W. Thankoffering at Duffs' Church on
April 5 at 2:30 p.m. Girls from Alma College
will be taking the service.
The musit'event has been qrt for Mm' 9 qt
3 p.m. with the Grey -Bruce Singers pro-
viding special entertainment. Tickets were
given out to each leader to be taken back to
the units to be sold.
Several invitations of surrounding
Thankofferings were read by the leader to
be taken back to units.
Easter Sunday at Walton will be changed
to 11:30 for the morning service as Bluevale
goes in earlier after their pancake
breakfast.
Area Sports
The Walton Area Sports Club held their

Dave Gamble presided over the business.
Minutes of the last meeting were read by
Ben Stevenson followed by Ernie Livingston
giving the treasurer's report.
4-H Club
The third meeting of the 4-H Club project,
Surviving with Style was held last week at
the home of Karen Hoegy.
During the meeting members talked
about decisions, values, standards and how
to spend money wisely.
The next meeting was be held March 10 at
7:30 p.m. at the home of Marg Baan.

LONDESBORO - Each spring at Hullett
Central School, students from grades 4 to 8
do speeches lasting between three to five
minutes long. Three or four pupils are then
picked to represent each on the stage in the
auditorium. '
This time the judges were Mrs. Kane,
Mrs. Penn, and Mr. Shuttleworth. On behalf
of the school, the students would like to
thank and give our gratitude to these people.
The winners in the. junior division were
Mark Livermore, first; Christy Scott, se-
cond; Kelly Bosman, third.
From the senior division Brent Howatt
was picked for first, Shane Taylor second,
Julia de Jong placed third.
On February 25 the school's winners took
a bus to the Blyth Public School.
In the junior competition, Hullett did ex-
tremely well, taking the top three places.
Mark Livermore was the best, Kelly
Bosman second, and Christy Scott tied for
Lost heir results
BLTYH - In lost heir action at the
memorial hall here last week, father and
son Shane and Alvin Snell were battling it
out for the top honors in the men's category.
With CwVen tahleN in play, Shane came
away with the men's high and Alvin had the
men's low.
In ladies' action, Evelyn Smith had the
high and Edythe Sn,ll the low.
Vacationer returns
BI,YTH - Bernice McClinchey has return-
ed from a two week holiday.
Mrs. McClinchey spent her holiday in
Florida with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brooks at
Avon Park.-
