The counties of Bruce, Grey and Huron, and parts of Perth, Wellington and Middlesex will be under the jurisdiction of the Western Ontario Baseball Association ( WOBA). This organization will handle all baseball matters formerly handled by the WOAA. Softball will continue to be looked after by the WOAA. The planning to create the WOBA began in September, 1986. By November, all 1986 baseball towns were committed and a for- mal application to be recognized was sub- mitted to the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA). Following a favourable reception work continued at preparing a constitution and by-laws. A founding meeting was held in Clinton on February 14. Then, on February 22, the OBA voted to officially recognize the WOBA and accepted a representative of the WOBA onto their executive. The elected president of the WOBA is John Hope of Lucan. The secretary -treasurer is John Gates of Kincardine. The other members of the baseball committee come from each of the towns that intend to register teams with the WOBA for the 1987 season. The first full meeting of the Baseball Com- mittee will be held in the Clinton Town Hall on March 8 at 2 p.m. Each town that plans on having baseball teams this summer is en- couraged to have one person in attendance. For further information contact either: John Hope, Lucan, NOM 1J0 (227-4972), or John Gates, Kincardine, N2Z 1Y1 (396-2119). • GODERICH 524-7811 • FIREWALKER 7:00 ASSASSINATION 8:50 TUES. 2.50 NIGHT ENDS • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • THURSDAY 7:30 i y • SHELLEY BETE OUTRAGEOUS AN ACTION uo„ .x • • I ONG MIOLF9 FORTUNE PACKED NIGHT -...... • *CCD Iii MrrD BUCK & DOE for Bill Gibson and Marianne Menzies SATURDAY, MARCH 7 at the STANLEY TOWNSHIP COMPLEX, VARNA Lunch Provided - No Minors '3.00 ADVANCE - '4.00 AT DOOR FOR ADVANCE TICKETS PHONE 482-5709 rHAPPY SWEET 16 Lan - Love 'he Chis HAPPY 30th ANNIVERSARY MOM & DAD (Don and Marilyn Forbes How about a party?
