Choose a wedding date, then arrange with your fiance to meet with the clergy member or marriage commissioner who will perform the ceremony. It's a good idea to have a couple of dates in mind— the church or chapel may be booked or the clergy or commissioner unavailable for„ your first choice of date and time. Arrange for the organist and soloist or other musicians at ceremony. Make reception reservations: location, caterer, band or disc jockey. Book your photographer—and video photographer if desired. Start your guest list. Choose your attendants. Select your wedding gown and veil (and shoes if they must be ordered and dyed to match dress). Register your patterns, colours, etc. with the bridal registry at leading local stores. Order attendants' dresses. Three Months Before the Wedding: Complete guest list. Order invitations and wedding announcements. Get any innoculations, vaccinations, etc. needed for honeymoon trip. Renew your passport, if necessary. Order flowers. Register for pre -marriage counselling course. Two Months Before the Wedding: Order wedding cake. Visit cosmetician for skin care and makeup tips. Address invitations and announcements. Mail invitations to arrive six weeks before the wedding. Arrange for wedding cars, limousine ( s) or livery. One Month Before the Wedding: Have final dress fitting. Buy groom's and attendants' gifts. -Write thank -you notes as gifts are received. Visit hairdresserand decide upon an appropriate hair style for your wedding day. Arrange accommodation for out-of- town guests. Plan rehearsal dinner (if you are giv- ing it.) Two Weeks Before the Wedding: Start moving personal and household items into new home. Plan transportation to the church and reception for attendants, parents and yourself. Send announcements to newspapers. Have a 'wrap -the -cake party'. (Gather together and turn a time-consuming job into a fun evening.) One Week Before the Wedding: Have announcements ready to mail on your wedding day (after the ceremony ).
