French teacher) who thought of this
creative idea. She then took her idea to the
staff and they agreed to go ahead with it.
The two main reasons of this winter car-
nival is to promote ideas of French outside
of the classroom and to learn about Quebec
culture and to get the school involved in
theme activity and to work as a team to
achieve certain goals.
On Monday of this week there was a
presentation about Quebec's background.
Tuesday, students wore as much white as
they could. Also on this day, students stay-
ing for lunch tried to bring as much white
food in their lunch as possible. This was call-
ed a White Lunch. This went towards spirit
points for the classes.
This also is the day which snow sculptures
should be finished for judging.
On Wednesday there are outdoor ac-
tivities in the school yard. All studenta in the
school will be divided into five "dukedoms."
There will be eight teams, all points go
towards "duches."
There will be several activities including:
ski race, toboggan race, snowball accuracy
toss, tug o war, obsticle course.
Hot chocolate will be served to the cold
participants. Everybody will be making a
small Bonhomie riot) fn wont- during activi-
ty day, and to keep as they do in Quebec. We
hope you learn about the annual "Carnaval
de Quebec".
By Melanie McCone,
Naomi Duddy, and
Miss Syrovy.
