On February 4, the boys' volleyball team
travelled to Hullett Central School for a
lunch-hour exhibition game. They played
two games and won them both, 15-7 and
16-14. During the second game the Hullett
team received some encouragement from
the fans but through all the loud screams
and cheers the Blyth boys pulled out a se-
cond victory in a very close match. Both
teams played superbly and enjoyed the
break from routine.
Contrary to the victory of the boys, the
Blyth Public School girls' volleyball team
did not do well on Thursday in Hullett. They
lost the three games 15-4, 15-7 and 15-3. The
Hullett team played three excellent games.

Travellers return
Mary Procter of RR 5, Brussels and Sheila
Richards of Brussels have returned home
after a two-week trip to Israel. The tour was
directed and so ordinated by Dr. Douglas
Lapp, Minister of Westdale United Church,
Hamilton, and included 17 others from the
Hamilton -Burlington area and Rev. Douglas
Lennox of Hanover.
Ronan, their tour guide, a young Israeli,
provided an informative commentary on the
history and traditions of the Jewish people,
their faith, and the country which is now
Israel as they visited the ancient, historical
and biblical sites mentioned in both the old
and new Testaments, the ladies said. They
also saw the new modern Israel, and its
many facets, as well as taking a day trip to
the Golan Heights.
Ronan was able to convey what it means
to be a citizen of this vital and bustling coun-
try and the importance and necessity to
work for peace among all nations. As they
travelled throughout Israel by bus, they
realized how fortunate they were to have
Eli, an excellent and very pleasant bus
driver. Mary was able to get in touch with
Dr. Jim Shalom, who had practised in
Lucknow and who is now -orking on a kib-
butz near Safed.
All in all, a most memorable n, ging
experience.
