Travellers return Mary Procter of RR 5, Brussels and Sheila Richards of Brussels have returned home after a two-week trip to Israel. The tour was directed and so ordinated by Dr. Douglas Lapp, Minister of Westdale United Church, Hamilton, and included 17 others from the Hamilton -Burlington area and Rev. Douglas Lennox of Hanover. Ronan, their tour guide, a young Israeli, provided an informative commentary on the history and traditions of the Jewish people, their faith, and the country which is now Israel as they visited the ancient, historical and biblical sites mentioned in both the old and new Testaments, the ladies said. They also saw the new modern Israel, and its many facets, as well as taking a day trip to the Golan Heights. Ronan was able to convey what it means to be a citizen of this vital and bustling coun- try and the importance and necessity to work for peace among all nations. As they travelled throughout Israel by bus, they realized how fortunate they were to have Eli, an excellent and very pleasant bus driver. Mary was able to get in touch with Dr. Jim Shalom, who had practised in Lucknow and who is now -orking on a kib- butz near Safed. All in all, a most memorable n, ging experience.
