Wonderful Party." 1 would most sincerely like to
thank Ruth and George Townsend and all the
I.tind people who so quickly volunteered and
worked so hard to make my 30th birthday one of
my most memorable occasions. One that will

school friends, 4H leaders and club members,
Tuckersmith neighbours, and relatives. It just
seemed that everyone was there. A very special

"It's a major step forward and is a strong
signal to Canadians that their property
rights are important and basic" said On-
tario Real Estate President Maurice ,,La -
mond after a resolution endorsing entrench-
ment of 'property rights in the Constitution
was supported by the Ontario Legislature.
Lamond; who heads an organization of
37,000 real estate practitioners, said the
resolution, introduced by Liberal MPP Herb
Epp (Waterloo North) expresses the hopes
and desires of all Ontarians. "Of all their
basic rights which Canadians take , for
granted," Lamond said, "property rights
were the only ones left out of the Charter of
Rights and Freedoms. Today's action (Nov.
27) shows great Ieadership on Ontario's part
and will be a major factor 'as other pro-
vinces and the federal government consider
this vital issue."
He noted further that support for entren-
chment of property rights has come from all
sectors of Canadian life. The New
Brunswick and British Columbia govern-
ments have passed their own resolutions in
support. The Canadian Bar Association and
'the Canadian Chamber of Commerce along
with the Canadian Real Estate Association
have also endorsed entrenchment of proper-
ty rights.
The Ontario Real Estate Association has
been fighting for entrenchment of property
rights since the Constitution was first
negotiated with the provinces. As part of its
program of public awareness and informa-

Caruana, Rev Father J. Pluto and the ladies of
the St. James C;WALL.,who served the wonderful
.:"-lunch. Your kindness will always be
remembered. The Deicing r-amily.--1nx
tion; the Association along with its 48 local
real estate boards, has sponsored a 'Private
Property Week each fall for the past seven
years.
For the last two years, Private Property
Week has been a nation-wide celebration
with th volvement of the Canadian Real
Estate ociation and other provincial
associati s.
Given ' the , amending formula which
demands: support from seven provinces
representing at least 50 percent of the
population, and given that Quebec has not
yet signed the Constitution, Ontario's sup-
port was critical, Lamond stated.
"Today's decision is a victory for the pro-
perty owners and potential property owners
of this country," he said.
