Traditional dinner. at Huronview At noon on Monday, our friends and staff members from the East Dale wing were in the auditorium for their Christmas dinner with the traditional trimmings, and again, thanks goes to the kitchen staff and all those good people who make these extras possible. In earlier editions of Huronview news, it was reported that all residents with their staff from the four units had their festive dinner during the month of December. But the annual Christmas and New Year's day - dinners will be served on' the respective dates. Relatives are invited to have dinner on those days with residents, provided that notice is given to Betty Rogers in plenty of time to make arrangements. Early in the afternoon a memorial ser- vice for the late Mabel Scott was held in the chapel with Rev. David Snihur officiating. In his eulogy, Rev. Snihur spoke sincerely and lovingly of Mabel. 'She was a fine Chris- tian lady with many talents she shared with everyone. She was always there when we needed her, and never said no to requests. Mabel was a true friend to all, and has left behind many fond memories. Entertaining residents in the afternoon was the annual visit with the Foghorns and the choresters from McKay Centre from Goderich. Both groups presented an ex- cellent program. The singers directed by Irla Stewart and accompanist Joan Hen - wood, sang a medley of Christmas carols and folk songs. In their fine style, the Foghorns played several instrumentals and with narrations gave us an insight on the Christmas customs of other countries. Tuesday afternoon ladies from the four units with Evelyn Archer spent some time baking shortbread and other Christmas treats. Residents can hardly wait to sample all these goodies.
