About 20 years ago lived a lonely boy nam-
ed Kevin. He stayed in an orphanage with
other children, because his parents had died
when he was quite young. Kevin didn't have
any friends because he was shy and a loner.
He loved to dream about what it would be like
to be adopted by very loving parents and
spend Christmas with them.
It was just turning dark when Kevin saw all
the happy children laughing and playing out
in the snow. Kevin started to cry. He decided
to go for a walk to take his mind off his
troubles.
He was sitting on a bench when an elderly
lady named Miss Cameron walked by and sat
down beside him. She started a conversation.
She said that her friends and family lived too
far away to visit, and she felt so lonely spen-
ding Christmas by herself and cooking a big
meal and eating alone. She started to ask
Kevin questions about himself. For once in his
life someone was interested in him. They talk-
ed for a while and then Miss Cameron said
how nice it would be to spend Christmas with
a fine boy like Kevin. ; ..
Kevin `started to tell her about his Vie. Miss
Cameron said that probably he wouldn't want
to spend Christmas with an old boring lady
like her. When Kevin heard that he had never
been so happy before. Kevin said he would

love to spend Christmas with her:
Later that night, Miss Cameron got permis-
sion from the orphanage to have Kevin for
Christmas. That night Kevin couldn't get to
sleep because he was so excited. On
Christmas Day Kevin got up early and waited
for the taxi to take him to Miss Cameron's
apartment. He brought her his Mom's special
jewellery box that she had left for him. When
lie 'Wanted 'into the apartment he couldn't
believe his eyes. There was a turkey and lots
of good food on the table. There was also a lit-
tle Christmas tree with a big present under
it that had Kevin's name on it. He ran into

Miss Cameron's arms and gave her a kiss on
the cheek.
After eating the best meal he ever had - they
exchanged gifts. Miss Cameron loved the
jewellery box and Kevin was so happy to get
the monopoly game which she gave him. This
was the best Christils for the both of them.
From that day on th' saw each other a cou-
ple times a week and spent every holiday
together. Kevin and Miss Cameron finally had
someone who cared about them. For them it
was a real Christmas miracle.
