No one was sleeping
'Twas the night
'Twas the night after Christmas
When all through the house
Not a creature was sleeping,, not even a
mouse
The stockings weren't hung by the chimney
with care
They were thrown all over dad's big lazy
chair
And down in the basement the dog and the
cat
Had just fought it down to who gets the mat
When out on the porch I saw such a sight
My false teeth fell out and my hair turned
pure white
It• was out on my window that small little
sight
It was Santa Claus red with a bit of pure
might
He had come back to take our presents that
night
He said this line with a gleam in his eye
"I ran out of stock, too bad, goodbye"
And as he slipped out of sight that wierd
dark night
He said, "Merry Christmas to all,
SO HAVE A GOOD NIGHT!

Time for friends, family
Christmas is the time of year, when
friends and families should be near.
Children singing, laughing and jigging. We
tell stories of .long ago, about rudolf and San-
ta Why? Nobody knows.
Then on a cold winter night, there is but
one bright little light. The wind howls and
bowls, Why! I don't know.
Swarling twirling all around, falling fall-
ing down and down.
' Then I hear but one little noise, So I jump
in my bed and make not one noise,
Wandering, wandering what it might be?
But it was only my Father saying goodnight
to me.

A winter poem
Christmas is the time of year,
When snow flakes fall very near.
The lights are bright on the tree,
and the ordaments sing and laugh with glee.
The children are snug in their bed,
if Santa will not come OH I SHALL DREAD!
For the children will be out of presents,
And that won't be very pleasant.
Jack Frost will be nipping at your nose.
while icicles will be hanging on your nose.
The wind will blow and howl,
making the branches bend down and low.
The animals search for food with all their
might,
through the icy, dark and stormy night.
We must enjoy Christmas fast,
for it will be over and past.

Everyone was happy
T'was Christmas morning
And all through the house
Everyone was happy
Even the mouse.
The stockings were quickly dumped.
All over the floor piled and lumped.
Jonny had joy,
He had a new toy,
It wiggled and winked,
Why Jonny thought it "thinked."
A dolly was sitting there,
labeled with Sally,
She could drink and wet,
And be Sally's "pally."
The new robe she got,
Mommy just loved,
Her old robe was tattered and torn,
And now the new robe to breakfast could be
worn.
Daddy was happy,
Althoug,h Jonny called him "pappy"
He got a new tire pump,
Out of the box it came, with a great thump:
This is the end of the poem,
I'm afraid,
Cause I'm going to watch,
the Santa Claus parade.

A Christmas surprise
By Amanda Butt
"Good grief Mom," said Amy staring at
the Christmas tree, "it looks shorter every
year."
"Well it goes down Christmas afternoon
before we leave for your Grandma's,"
replied Amy's Mom.
"She never gets a tree," Amy said soun-
ding dull.
"Why don't you buy her a mini -tree, you
can get the for about $20," her Mom, Carol,
suggested.
"Sure, great idea. I have $30 saved up from
babysitting," Amy said running up the
maple stairs. "Mom, why did we get a piece
of wood in our stairs with a knot that fell
out."
"What!" Carol said looking up the
staircase.
"See, I found it laying here," said Amy
Christmas time
Snow is falling in the cold
With the wind very bold
It is really cold outside
The winter months are drawing nigh
As the lights shine with pleasure
The choir sings in merry measure
'With the shining stars so bright
Reindeers prance on white rooftops
As Santa makes all his stops
Down the chimney there he goes
Strait to his work then up with a blow
Then he drives his sleigh on
To his ice castle far beyond
As he went the children rose
To see what Santa for them chosse.

Christmas poem
Every year it comes and goes
It's Christmas time everyone knows
When the snow falls on the ground
Christmas seems to be around.
The Christmas tree is so fine
And the star on top of it shines
You can hear the Christmas bells
Listen to the stories they tell.
On"Christmas eve it snows and snows
Outside the wind blows and blows
However inside the house
Everyone's as quiet as a mouse.
As Christmas day dawns
The white snow covers all the lawns
School Christmas has just yet begun
And you can see the rising sun.

"Hi Grandma!" Amy said as she saw her
Grandma, three weeks later.
"Hello! Why look at the huge box. I
wonder who it's for," said Grandma
smiling.
"Everyone is here," Carol said as they
walked in.
"Grandma, you have to open this now,"
said Amy while handing her the present.
"Well -1-1," said Grandma.
"Open it," a few others said.
"Okay," Grandma said, opening the gift.
"Why it's a Christmas tree! Thank you
Amy, thank you. I usually don't get one
because they never look like a Christmas
tree should, but this one does."
"Thank you," said Amy.
"This will make it the best Christmas
ever!" said Grandma smiling happily.

It's Christmas
Falling snow and chiming bells.
Colored lights and cooking smells.
Happy faces, music swells,
Yet again the story tells,
It's Christmas.
Gift wrapped boxes, candy canes,
Cardboard angels, snow filled lanes.
Frost upon the window panes
Yet again the fact proclaims
It's Christmas.
Family gatherings, Christmas trees
Houses decked with holly leaves
Doors adorned with bright green wreaths.
Every body plainly sees
It's Christmas.
Steaming turkey, Candles red.
Roast potatoes, ginger bread.
Rich fruit pudding, all well fed!
Symbols that have always said
It's Christmas.
