THE YEAR SANTA GOT LOST...
Grade 1 Blyth Public
...deer's nose glowed
On December 24, Christmas night, Santa
Claus got lost.
Santa got lost in a cloud. It was a big
cloud.
Santa left Rudolph at home.
Rudolph said, "I'd best go and find
Santa."
Rudolph said, "Glow nose!"
He found Santa. Then Santa said, "That's
Rudolph." And Santa gave his toys away.

...he had to walk
It was the night before Christmas when
Santa was packing. The elves got the
reindeer ready to go on the trip. Santa got
going just in time.
When he gave all the gifts away he was
lost. He started to walk. The more he walked
the more he got lost. Then he saw someone.
It looked like a person. It was a person.
He said, "Hi, how are you?"
He said, "I'm fine. How are you?"
"I'm fine too." He still had his reindeer.
Then he went back to the northpole.

Christmas kindness
Because this old world is so hungry for wisdom or guile or sophistication; but, as
love, "the simple art of being kind" is need- sorely as we need the gentle offices of love

THE YEAR SANTA GOT LOST.. •
...the star led him astray
It was the night before Christmas Eve. It
was 10:00. Everybody was tucked into bed
fast asleep. At the North Pole Santa was get-
ting the toys ready when he heard a sound.
He looked out the window. There was one
star out. The star started talking to Santa.
It said, "Follow me every step I take."
So Santa did so. He started following and
following and following and following, until
the star disappeared.
Santa was lost!
He looked all around. He was lost in the
forest. Deep in the forest.
Well, the day came. "It's Christmas
day!"
It was 9:00 and everybody was downstairs
to open their Christmas presents.
But what! The presents weren't there.
Had Santa come, or what?
"I don't think Santa Claus came," said
Sarah, who was only five.
"I don't think so either," said Scott, who
was eight. "I know the sky like the back of my hand.
The next morning Scott and Sarah went ® It ' time to go Off we go "
downstairs to watch TV. Their Christmas !
tree was still up.
They looked under the tree and sure
enough there were their presents.

Santa got in. The elves hopped in. They
started at Canada. But Santa got lost.
Santa said, "Oh, no! I think we are lost:"
The elves thought that they were lost too.
"How are we going to get out"? said the
elves.
"I do not know," said Santa.
Santa wondered how we would ever find
all the other people in the world.
This is the song Santa sang, "I hope we
will find a way." Then he stopped singing.
"I brought a map", he said. "I will go and
get it?"
In a minute Santa was flying. In three
hours Santa was around the world and back
home with Mrs. Claus drinking hot
chocolate. And he never ever got lost again.

...he was missed
It was only two more hours until
Christmas Eve and Santa was still making
toys."
"We will have to quit. But where is
Rudolph?
"I guess we will have to' go without him,"
said Donn. "We will have to pack up and
leave. We will get lost."
..the radio told it
It was the night before Christmas and
Santa got lost. He could not find his way to
Blyth. He had lots of toys.
Finally, it was 10:00 on Christmas Eve,
and Sarah was worried. She was Pauline's
little sister. So Pauline turned on the radio,
and it said that Santa had got caught in a
snow storm.
But then Pauline read Sarah stories about
Christmas.
Then we all went to bed and looked at
some books for a while.
Then it was 11:00, and we got tucked in to
bed. Then we went to sleep.
Later Sarah got worried again.
So Pauline went to sleep with her for the
rest of the night. Then we heard a noise. Just
before we went to sleep.
In the morning we found some presents
under the tree. Sarah got a Cabbage Patch
Kid. Pauline got a make-up set.
Then they all lived happily ever after. And
Santa Claus never got lost again.

...the elves
knew it
One year at Christmas time, Santa went
shopping at the North Pole. He bought one of
every toy. His elves made the rest of the
toys.
Then Santa Claus a went to give his
reindeers a carrot.
"Here you go," said Santa.
The elves had the toys in the sled already
waiting.
Santa got the reindeers and hooked them
up.
The bells went ding, ding, tingle, ting!

Santa called, "Help!"
Mrs. Claus went to bed. Then it was morn-
