MARIE JEFFERSON CLERIC TREASURER CLINTON NEWS -RECORD, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 24, 19116—Page 3A THE YEAR SANTA GOT LOST... :..The abominable snowman out to get him One Christmas Greg and Jason'and 1 went to sleep on Christmas Eve. We got up. No presents. I heard a noise. Jason looked out the win- dow. He saw a shining light. It was a star. And I heard a drumming sound. We sat up half the night. "Greg," he said. "I heard bells." Just then Chris Bromley came in. He said he could not sleep. We made hot chocolate. Just then we all heard a noise. It was Santa. Jason and Greg got our snowmobile. Chris and I got ready. All of the reindeer were try- ing to get away from the abominable snowman. But he did not go after them. lie came after us. He fell off the cliff. We gave all the children toys. A poor per- son said to her children she could not buy toys for them. We gave them toys. Santa and Rudolph said we could pick out any toy he had. Jason took Bolder hill. Chris took a nice truck. Greg took thunder hawk. Santa said I could have one for my brother. For my brother I got a GT show racer. I got a Rhino rig. Next Christmas we did it again. We gave out toys for little children. After that, Rudolph and Santa always gave us what we wanted. Chad Haggitt Grade 3 Blyth Public School ...They were short a reindeer One Christmas Eve Santa was all ready to go. The toys were all packed. He made sure that he had the list of all the good little boys and girls. But something was wrong. He counted all the reindeer. There were only seven. There was supposed to have been eight. Santa went to every reindeer and asked their names. He said, "Rudolph is missing. I want every reindeer to come to a meeting in front of the toy shed," he said. `I want every reindeer to look everywhere for Rudolph." Dancer went toward the forest. He saw reindeer hoof tracks. They looked like Rudolph's tracks. They looked like the abominable snowman's. D,pncer went back to Santa and told him. Santa called all the reindeer back to the Grade 3 Blyth Public School shed. He put the reindeer into groups and Blitzen was in charge of them all. Blit7nn ac+nf nr,repr'o ,rrmir. west. N" rant Donner's group east. He sent Prancer's group North. He sent.Comet's group south. Comet's group followed the tracks. They led to a big cave. Comet said, "This is where the abominable snowman lives, so be careful." They split up but they could not find him. Then when they got back to Santa, Santa said, "We will have to go without him. Donner said, "We will get lost." Santa said, "No we won't. I know the sky like the back of my hand." But that night they got lost in a big cloud. But they got out and got all the toys delivered. And they found Rudolph before the abominable snowman ate him.
