Clinton, and district deaths
Douwe Bruinsma
Douwe Bruinsma of 142 North Street
South, Clinton, died in Clinton Public
Hospital on December 16. He was 78 years
old.
Mr. Bruinsma, who retired from farming
in the Clinton area in 1971, was born on
January 27, 1908 to the late Thys and Grietje
(Bos) Bruinsma in Lollum, Frieland,
Netherlands. On May 24, 1935 he married
the late Mary Lantinga of Tzum,
Netherlands in Tzum, Netherlands.
A member of the Clinton Christian
Reformed Church, Mr. Bruinsma is surviv-
ed by eight children; Hinke and Jim
Bakelaar of Belgrave; Ted and Jane
Bruinsma of Brampton; Greta and Henry'
Amsinga of Thamesford; Cecil and Diane
Bruinsma of RR4 Goderich; Fred and
Marilyn Bruinsma of RR5 Goderich;
Charles and Lynda Bruinsma of RR2
Goderich; Sid and Mona Bruinsma of RR2
Goderich; Irene and Peter Ott of RR2
Goderich.
Also surviving are 33 grandchildren and
eight great grandchildren.
Mr. Bruinsma was predeceased by three
brothers, Siebe, Folkert and Jan, and one
sister, Fetsi.
Mr. Bruinsma rested at Beattie Funeral
Home, Clinton, and a funeral service was
held on December 19 at Clinton Christian
Reformed Church with Rev. Homer
Samplonius officiating.
Flower bearers were grandsons Don
Bakelaar and Ron Bruinsma.
Active pallbearers were sons Ted, Cecil,
Fred, Charles and Sid Bruinsma and son-in-
law Peter Ott.
Interment in Clinton Cemetery.
Henry Russell Kerr
A retired grocery store operator, past
president of the Bayfield Lions Club, former
councillor and fire chief, Henry Russell
Kerr died in Queensway Nursing Home on
December 13. He was 84 years old.
Mr. Kerr was born on October 20, 1902 in
Petrolia to the late John and Jennie (Syver)
Kerr. In 1922 he married the late Annie
Elizabeth VanNatter in Petrolia.
Mr. Kerr is survived by one daughter,
June Humphries of Bayfield, and one grand-
son, Carl Humphries of London.
He was predeceased by one sister,
Brigader Lena' Porter, and one brother,
Brigader Nelson Kerr.
A funeral service was held on December
16 at the Beattie Funeral Home, Clinton,
with Rev. Gordon Kurtz officiating.
Interment in„Bayfield Cemetery.
Mabel Scott
Mabel Scott of Huronview and formerly of
Londesboro and Tuckersmith Township,
died on December 14 at Huronview. She was
94.
Born in Hullett Township on November 14,
1892, she was the daughter of William and
Mary (Brown) Lee.
Mrs. Scott was raised in Hullett Township,
and following her marriage to John Scott on
November 14, 1916, she and her husband
farmed in Hullett, until moving to
Londesboro in the late 1940s. They lived in
Londesboro until Mr. Scott died in 1959, and
she then moved to Tuckersmith Township to
live with her daughter Thelma. She resided
there until 1981 when she moved to Huron -
view, where she lived until her death.
Mrs. Scott was a member of Londesboro
United Church and the Londesboro United
Church Women.
She is survived by her daughter Thelma
(Mrs. Alister Broadfoot) of Seaforth, her
Taylor-Aberhart
Vic Taylor, of Clinton, and Mabel Aberhart,
were married on December 6 at First
Westminster United Church, London with
Rev. Barry Robinson officiating. After a
winter stay in Florida, the couple will reside

Collins -Chesney

ried in Egmondville United Church on
December 13. Rev. Cheryl Ann Stadelbauer-
Sampa officiated. Maid of honor was Lauri
Habkirk of Seaforth and bridesmaids were
Barb McGregor of Kippen and Mag
Devereaux of Toronto. Bestman was Jerry
Brand of Calgary, Alberta, and ushers were
Bruce Collins of Clinton and Harold Chesney
of Sarnia. A reception was held in Seaforth
and District Community Centre followed by
a trip to Atigua. The couple will take up

son 11. Kenneth Scott of Calabogie, as well
as four grandchildren and several great-
grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters; Ella
(Mrs. Charles WOoven) of Stoiaffville and
Fanny (Mrs. Bert Beacome) of Clinton.
Mrs. Scott was predeceased by one sister
and seven brothers.
Funeral services were held on December
17 at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home
with Rev. David Snihur presiding. Inter-
ment was at the Londesboro Cemetery.
Warren Douglas Cudmore
Funeral services were held on December
20 at the Ball and Flancoer Funeral Home,
Clinton for Warren Douglas Cudmore of
Goderich.
The 25 year old man died in Buffalo, New
York on December 8.
Born in Clinton on April 2, 1961, he was the
son of William Norton Cudmore and Wilda
Ernestine Wilson of Clinton.
Along with his parents, Mr. Cudmore was
survived by his wife, Debra Rae Graham.
They were married on June 25, 1982 at North
Street United Church in Goderich.
Following their marriage they moved to
Toronto, where Mr. Cudmore was employed
with MacLean -Hunter Television, as a cable
installer. In 1985 they returned to live in
Goderich.
The Cudmores had two sons, Michael and
Shawn, both at home.
Mr. Cudmore was the son-in-law of Allan
and Adeline Pennie of Goderich, and Ralph
and Brenda Graham of Ottawa. He is also
survived by his grandfathers, Roy Wilson of
RR 2 Goderich and Donald Riehl of
Seaforth.
One sister, Karen (Mrs. Michael Fuller)
of Severn Bridge survives, along with two
brothers, Bernard and Leighton Cudmore,
both at home.
Rev. David Woodall officiated at the
December 20 funeral services in Clinton.
The pallbearers were Bernard Cudmore,
Leighton Cudmore, Chris Graham, Robert
Graham, Carl Sourbutts and Mark Ricciot-
ta. Burial took place at the Maitland
Cemetery, Goderich.
