Santa visits Bayfiehl preseholers
By Helen Owen
HAYFIELD - Their was an unusual air of
excitement in the municipal building on
December 16. The pre-school children, their
brothers, sisters and parents hurried in, all
set for the Christmas party.
To start things off the children entertain-
ed their guests with songs they had learned,
and then everyone settled down to watch the
movie. This was followed by lunch.
Then came the moment for which
everyone had waited. Santa himself arrived
to distribute gifts and bring the party to a
fine conclusion.
Pre-school ;sessions will resume on
January 5.
Clan Gregor News
The Bayfield Lioness paid their second
visit to Clan Gregor Apartments on
December 17. This time the residents not on-
ly joined in the singing of carols and
Christmas songs, but also had an opportuni-
ty to listen to the recording of the Candle
Light Service which had taken place at the
United Church on Sunday evening.
A very welcome guest on this occasion
was Grace Duggan who told the stoy of a
Christmas song she taught the school
children, and then recited the words.
Delightful refreshments were served by the
Lioness who take so much trouble to ar-
range these parties annually.
Then on Thursday evening the hallways
echoed with the sound of children's voices
singing well-known carols. This time it was
the Brownies and their leaders who came to
bring Christmas cheer.
On Saturday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs.
George Chapman also planned a special
party for the residents. This was a great
success last year and is looked forward to
with pleasant anticipation.
