HENSALL - The Three Links Seniors en-
joyed a turkey supper with all the trimm-.
ings on December 9 prior to their meeting.
All were welcomed by president, Aideen
Volland. Christmas carols were sung with
Dorothy Mickle at the piano.
Guests for the evening were Mr. and Mrs.
Skinner of Grand Bend. Mr. Skinner enter-
tained with several selections on his mouth
organ.
Games of euchre were played to end the
evening's activities. Winners were: ladies'
high - Betty Grenier, men's high - Alphonse
Grenier, ladies low - Eileen Dowson, men's
low - Vera Ross, lone hands - Pearl
McKnight.
The next meeting will be on January 13 at
2 pm and everyone is welcome.
Shuffleboard
A good group turned out to shuffle on
Thursday at the arena. Ladies' high scores
were: Marg Consitt, 484; Betty Grenier,
380; Mary Buchanan, 334. Men's high scores

ollowing the shuffling on December 18
there will be a Christmas party. All are
welcome.
Please notice the change of dates for
Christmas week. The Happy Pushers will
meet December 23 and also December 30.
People
Mrs. Laird Mickle attended the family
Christmas gathering on Sunday at the home
of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Brian Collins and family in Waterloo.
Mrs. Mickle was pleased that all of her
family and grandchildren could be present
for all of the festivities.
Minor Hockey
The Hensall Tykes disposed of their big-
gest rivals of the past few years on Saturday
by defeating Huron Park by a score of 17-3.
Hensall hotshots were Mark Bell with an
incredible eight goals and his equally amaz-
ing teammates Brock Wiess with six goals
and Jeff Campbell with three. It was also a
great effort by the goalie and the rest of the
team.
Huron Park's goals were scored by Darryl
Parsons with two, and Jeremy Pickering
With one.
Novice 10 - Blyth 4
The Novice team achieved a solid win
over Blyth on Saturday with the score of
10-4.
Hensall goals were scored by Blair Moir,
founDanny Taylor, three, Ray Bierling, two
and Jason Moore, one.
Youth for Christ
South Huron YFC held the December Ral-
ly at Brucefield school on December 6 with
200 in attendance. Director Ron Westlake
opened the rally.
Quiz teams were then quizzed on I John 2,
7-29 with the results being Clinton, first;
Goderich, second and Exeter, third.
At the January rally they will quiz on I
John 3.
The January rally will be in the form of a
Talent Night with talent from the local area.
February's rally will be a skating party and
also the 1987 Snow Camp at Circle R Ranch,
Delewan, New York.
Quizzing for this event will be Proverbs 2.
The guest speaker for this month was
Rev. Wes Aurum, director of Circle R
Ranch. He showed a film about the ranch.
He then favored the group with a piano solo
and led in the singing of some choruses.
Afterwards he delivered an inspiring
message. Everyone was happy to renew ac-
quaintance with Wes. Refreshments were
by seniors
then served to end the rally.
Village Hayride
The Hensall beavers were out on Thurs-
day for a wonderful hayride around the
village. The boys would like to thank Jack
Kinsman and family for supplying the
wagon and escort and most of all the pair of
well behaved horses which worked so hard
on the snowy, slippery streets.
Refreshments and games followed back, at
the Legion hall. Beavers will meet again
January 8.
The Cubs also partied last Thursday. They
held their movie night at the home of Akela,
Ken Clarke. They then enjoyed popcorn and
pop and exchanged Christmas gifts. The
Cubs also will resume meetings on January
8.
The Venturers held their holiday party at
the home of leader Rick Edwards. They en-
joyed an evening of movies with
refreshments.
The Scout party took place last night.
Show Support
Anyone interested in parent or leader par-
ticipation is invited to a group committee
meeting on behalf of the Scouting Move-
ment. The meeting will be held January 8 at
8:30 p.m. The group will meet upstairs at
the Legion in Hensall. Please come out to
show your support.
Bottle Drive
There will be a bottle drive on January 17
so keep some of those empty pop and beer
bottles which pile up.
Merry Christmas to all from the Ven-
turers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers and their
leaders and thank you to everyone who has
helped them during 1986.

Season was the theme of the recent
School- . children's program ..presented At
Wesley -Willis Church, December 14, with 85
children participating.
During the preceding worship service,
Mr. and Mrs. Beecher Menzies and
Marianne conducted the children's story
and lighting of the third Advent Candle,
love, with appropriate scriptures being read

The primary choir, directed by Alice An-
drews, provided the Ministry of Music. The
junior choir, directed by Mary Hearn,
together with the Sunday School classes of
Grade 3 to 8 presented a musical drama
assisted by soloist Ralph Holland.
Following the presentation of gifts to the
children by the teachers and superintendent
Barbara Hicks, the congregation and
children enjoyed their annual Christmas
party and lunch.
This Thursday at 7 p.m. the Senior Choir
will visit the local hospital and sing
Christmas music. Then on Christmas Eve at
9 p.m. the First Clinton Rovers, with leaders
Rev. and Mrs. Bechtel will present a special
Thank you Celebration to share their New
Zealand Moot '86 slides and enjoy Christmas
goodies.
They are happy to report that the entire
trip debt is now cancelled. Then at 11 p.m.
the traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight
Communion Service will be held.
New Yeai s Eve, the Rovers will be pro-
viding an overnight babysitting service and
New Year's Day breakfast for any children
interested. To register, parents should con-
tact Mrs. Bechtel.
