CLINTON - Although they are currently
without a church, members of the Clinton
Pentecostal Chuch have a new reverend
who would like to rebuild the congregation,
and eventually build a new church.
Rev. Douglas !Richards said he and his
family moved to the area when, "we felt the
Lord really impressing upon our hearts to
come to Clinton.
"The church building (on Victoria Street)
is up for sale; we're meeting in the Clinton
Public School auditorium while we're
rebuilding the congregation," Rev.
Richards said. "Eventually, we'll be
building a new church."
He added, "Just because the building is
sold doesn't mean the end of the church. We
had outlived those facilities."
While he is impressed with the growth of
the congregation, he said they are not large
services.
"We're consistently seeing new faces. The
church is slowly growing and we hope in the

tion. The reflector is often sold with the
Christmas light string.
To make sure you use the right size reflec-
tor, examine the reflector or the package it
comes in. One or the other must indicate the
size of the bulb the reflector can be used
with.
To guard against a shock hazard, do not
let the metal of the reflector contact the
screw shell of either the lamp or the socket.

sulation, consisting of either plastic or

very near future we'll start to build our new
church," Rev. ,Richards noted.
He briefly outlined his history in and out of
the ministry that eventually led to his ar-
rival here.
Born and educated in Oakville, Rev.
Richards worked for a number of years as a
claims officer for the Workmen's Compen-
sation Board after high school.
"I then switched tip newspaper advertis-
ing for the Oakville Daily Journal Record,"
he said, and added that he did a lot of job
jumping, but these two jobs were his main
ones.
After the Journal Record went tri -weekly
he moved to the Meaford Express where he
was the sales manager for one year.
"While there I felt the call to go into the
ministry, so I went to Eastern Pentescostal
Bible College in Peterborough. I graduated
from there in 1980," he explained.
Following his graduation he and his grow-
ing family moved to a small northern On-
tario town called Matheson."

• 1 pastored up there for two years, and
after two years we felt pressed by the Lord
to go into the neighboring town of Iroquois
Falls and start a church there," Rev.
Richards continued.
In Iroquois Falls it was necessary for him
to pioneer the church. He explained pioneer-
ing as going into an area that does not have
a particular denomination, and starting up a
church of that kind.
During his four years in Iroquois Falls he
saw his congregation grow and grow, until
he felt their time there was up. As a sign of
his success in the Falls, a building has
recently been purchased for the congrega-
tion, and it will be dedicated in the spring.
The Richards family next moved to

"It's a great little town. We have a nice
house, a nice school and a nice community.
We find the town very friendly and the peo-
ple very warm hearted. It's almost like
' coming home," he said. "I think we'll be
here for awhile. We have enough commit-

house and we're settling in."
