Rev. Douglas !Richards said he and his family moved to the area when, "we felt the Lord really impressing upon our hearts to come to Clinton. "The church building (on Victoria Street) is up for sale; we're meeting in the Clinton Public School auditorium while we're rebuilding the congregation," Rev. Richards said. "Eventually, we'll be building a new church." He added, "Just because the building is sold doesn't mean the end of the church. We had outlived those facilities." While he is impressed with the growth of the congregation, he said they are not large services. "We're consistently seeing new faces. The church is slowly growing and we hope in the Many people do not realize that the reflec- tor which fits around the bulb also requires Canadian Standards Association certifica- tion. The reflector is often sold with the Christmas light string. To make sure you use the right size reflec- tor, examine the reflector or the package it comes in. One or the other must indicate the size of the bulb the reflector can be used with. To guard against a shock hazard, do not let the metal of the reflector contact the screw shell of either the lamp or the socket. Check to make sure the refectors have in- sulation, consisting of either plastic or another non-metallic material, placed bet- ween the lamp and the metal part of the reflector. very near future we'll start to build our new church," Rev. ,Richards noted. He briefly outlined his history in and out of the ministry that eventually led to his ar- rival here. Born and educated in Oakville, Rev. Richards worked for a number of years as a claims officer for the Workmen's Compen- sation Board after high school. "I then switched tip newspaper advertis- ing for the Oakville Daily Journal Record," he said, and added that he did a lot of job jumping, but these two jobs were his main ones. After the Journal Record went tri -weekly he moved to the Meaford Express where he was the sales manager for one year. "While there I felt the call to go into the ministry, so I went to Eastern Pentescostal Bible College in Peterborough. I graduated from there in 1980," he explained. Richards continued. In Iroquois Falls it was necessary for him to pioneer the church. He explained pioneer- ing as going into an area that does not have a particular denomination, and starting up a church of that kind.
