By Susan Hoy
CLINTON - The Rabid Transit Comedy
Cabaret, the Clinton Arts Committee (CAC)
Entertainment Series opener took place at
the town hall on November 22. It was con-
sidered an unqualified success, judging by
the continuous laughter and loud applause.
The four member cast had the audience in
stitches with their witty sketches and
unbelievable and imaginative improvisa-
tions. Anyone who saw the performance
couldn't help but smile at the mention of
Gordon Pinsent and Canadian film,
Gremlins,Beaverslfootball atis

Brian, •Bartl ff's and
countless others.
Two door prizes were drawn at intermis-
sion and were won by Ross Carter and
Elizabeth Oak. These people are the reci-
pients of free admission for themselves and
an escort to the performance of Lover's
Leap - the Community Players' first presen-
tation to be held Dec. 4, 5 and 6.
The refreshments and cabaret style at-
mosphere contributed to making the even-
ing enjoyable for all. The CAC is interested
in your comments on this performance.

Winter is entertainment for
show that tells of a young ooy .s experiences
during a winter in a simpler time. The play
is underscored with original music and is
suitable for adults and for children over five
years of age. It is a nostalgic comedy in
which children spend idyllic days catching
snowflakes on their tongues and playing
hockey on homemade rinks. A Prairie Boy's
Winter is, also a moving portrayal of two
very differeent brothers who, while playing
the familiar games of winter, come to
understand one another. Children and
adults alike will be transfixed by the
luminously -colored costumes, the im-
aginative staging, the lyrical theme music
and the joyful celebration of Canadian
winter.
The play, which is based on the stories and
paintings of Manitoba artist William
Kurelek, played to capacity crowds
throughout Manitoba for the last two
Christmas seasons. Move over, Nutcracker!
