Mary Rollison turns 98 years .old
There were six tables in play at the euchre
party on Tuesday, November 18, at the Com-
munity Hall. Winners were Carol Daer
(high lady), Marion Haggit (low lady),
Warner Andrews (high man), Elliot Lapp
(low man) and Adelaide Allin (lucky chair).
Euchre parties are held every Tuesday
night at the hall and everyone is welcome.
The Silver Tops smorgasbord dinner was
held on Wednesday, November 19 at the
Community Hall with 42 present. Everyone
enjoyed the dinner followed by a short
business meeting. Little Senior Citizen band
:from Wingham entertained for an hour
, !followed by a few games of cards.
Mrs. Mary Rollison celebrated her 98th
birthday on November 18 with friends drop-
ping in to visit and have birthday cake. She
received many cards of best wishes.
Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Len Ar-
chambault were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Craig of
Sarnia, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnston of Strat-
ford, Mr. and Mrs. Don Parker, Sarah and
Amy of Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Ar-
chambault and Becky and Robbie of
Auburn.

WI receive thank yous
starting at 8 p.m. will be convened by
Margaret Craig, Marjory Humphries and
Maxine Marks.
The December meeting is to be a potluck
supper at 6:30 p.m. with a gift exchange.
November Meeting
Walton 2 UCW members held their
meeting at the home of Kathleen Williamson
November 19. The devotions were led by
Vera McDonald and Margery Ritchie on
Remberance Day. Karen Hoegy presided
for the business. Margaret Craig read
minutes, Discussion followed on the pur-
chase of four tea pots and a clock; also on
new church dishes. Donations were to the
Callender Nursing Home in Brussels.
Church Calendars were sold. The Quilt
Display and Fowl Supper were a success.
Celebrates Birthday
Ken and Judy Shortreed entertained on
November 21 in honor of Isabelle Shor-
treed's birthday. Family and guests at sup-
per were Bill and Louise Smith of Mitchell;
Joan Beuermann, Stratford; Lloyd and
Helen Warwick, Bluevale. Later 20 friends
from Brussels and Walton dropped in to ex-
tend their good wishes.
The evening was spent playing cards and
some lively violin music was played by
Phyllis Mitchell, Jack and Lloyd Warwick
with Freda Pipe and Louise Smith on the
piano.
Sandwiches and coffee and a birthday
cake decorated by Carol Humphries was
served by the hostess. Isabelle was taken
completely by surprise but enjoyed it all.

Sunday morning at Duff's United. Irvin
Schneider led the service giving the
message "Who am I". Doug and Margory
Fraser were greeted.

.WALTON - The Agriculture and Canadian
Industries meeting of the Walton Women's
Institute was held on November 19 with 16
members and five visitors present.
Helen Craig presided for the business.
Margery Huether was the pianist. Helen
welcomed the guests and read an article on
farming. Margaret Shortreed read minutes
followed by thank you notes received from
the Huron Day Centre for the homebound
and Grey Township.
The meeting was then turned over to Con-
venor Margery Huether who read the
Motto -"A Farmers Prayer" then introduc-
ed the guest speaker, Judy Jewitt. She put
on display the Kit that was made by the
South Huron district of the W.I. It was
shown recently at the Huron Board of
Education professional development day. It
is designed to make children aware of farm-
ing. The kit was made to develop farm -ac-
tivities through toys resembling equipment
used on the farm. Dolls made up a family
with four characters, all with given names.
There were kits that contained seed samples
and soil samples, safety kit, activity cards
and envelopes, also writing skills. There are
four of these kits in use throughout the coun-
ty and teachers are finding them very
useful in their schools.
Leona McDonald thanked Judy for bring-
ing all this information to the meeting
presented her with a small remembrance.
The Institute Calendars are now available
and will sell for $2.00. Helen gave a report
from the Area Convention she has attended.

Organ music was plrayed by Lori Millian.
The senior choir sang ' `Sing Alleluia" under
the direction of choir director and pianist
Lori Millian. There was time for children
and they went down to Sunday School rooms
with their teachers, Ruth Armstrong and
Bernice Gross. The minister's sermon was
entitled "Our Worries, Christ's Peace."
The offering was received by Kevin Webster
and Stuart Bakker. The service closed with
the benediction. Sunday, November 30 will
be the White Gift service.
The Women's Institute meeting was held
on Tuesday, November 18 at the Memorial
Hall at 2 p.m. Convenors were Mrs. Tom
Jardin and Mrs. Tina Empey. The topic was
citizenship and world affairs. The presi-
dent, Mrs. Len Archambault4 read a poem
entitled "What to eat?" A motion was made
to donate $25 to Londesboro Fashion Show.
The card report was given by Mrs. Lillian
Sutherland. The roll call answered by 15
people was "name a federal cabinet
minister and the position he holds."

Lisa Storey wins three awards
On November 15th the South Huron All
Breeds Horse Association (SHABHA) held
their awards night at Crediton.
The evening started with a very confused
volleyball game. Afterwards there was a
potluck supper, followed by the awards
presentation.
Winning Top Senior Showman was -
Carolyn Grenier of Exeter. Top Junior
Showman (13 to 18 yrs.) was Lisa Storey of
Clinton. Top Junior Showman (12 yrs. and
under) was Jennifer Heckman of Exeter.

Top Western Equitation for Senior Division
was Bill McNutt of Hay. Top Western
Equitation for Junior Division was Lisa
Storey. Top Junior in the Games was Lisa
Storey. Top in Games, English Jumps and
English Riding was won by Bill McNutt of
Hay.
Everybody left with a prize because as
Adrian Brand told it jokingly - we're all win-
ners but it's the judges fault that we didn't
get a red ribbon.
Readings were given by Mrs. Roy Daer and
Mrs. Tom Jardin. Mrs. Oliver Anderson
showed slides of her July trip to Scotland in-
cluding her visit to the Orkney Islands. The
meeting closed with the singing of God Save
Our Queen and grace. Hostesses were Mrs.
Roy Daer, Mrs, Tom Lawrence and Mrs.
Len Archambault.
