UCW selects new
This week we will begin a new
series and answers in response to
questions which you have asked
about the Baha'i Faith.
BELIEF IN GOD
Baha'is believe in God, the one
and the same Divine Essence wor-
shipped by Christians and
followers of many other religions.
THE ONENESS OF RELIGION
Baha'is do not deny their previous
Faith but rather add to it — in the
same way that Christian people re-
tain the teachings of Moses.
:FRIENDSHIP WITH OTHER FAITHS
Baha'is are enjoined to meet with
people of other religions in a spirit
of harmony and friendship.

David and Goliath as background.

alarming effect War Toys could have on
children. Shoppers are urged to not include
these toys on their Christmas lists. Another
hymn was sung and Anna led in prayer.

Sorority takes on gift wrapping
CLINTON — At the November 11 meeting
of Xi Epsilon Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma
Phi, the members decided to do Christmas
gift wrapping as a service project. The
dates December 18, 19 20, 22 and 23 were
chosen for this and the place was not yet
confirmed. The proceeds will go to the Clin-
ton Public Hospital Fund Raising
Campaign.
The social chairman, Nancy Klomps,
gave details aboutthe social to follow the
Rabid Transit performance at the town hall
on November 22.
Hostess Marjorie Dobson introduced the
guest speaker, Pamela Stone, who is a
representative of Prudential Assurance.
She gave a thought-provoking talk on the
importance to women of planning for their
i
financial future. Financial planning should
provide for protection, accumulation and
retirement.
Ms. Stone believes a woman should pay
herself first before other bills: This payment
would be invested in some way.
The need for a woman to be prepared was
emphasized by the statistics that '$6,336 is
the average income of women pensioners.
Another startling statistic mentioned was
that when a marriage breaks up usually the
man loses 20 percent and the woman loses 75
percent.
The members were asked to bring a gift of
new clothing or toys for the Huron County
Christmas Bureau to the next meeting at
Marguerite Falconer's home November 25.
