Bayfield Garden Club
Bayfield Garden Club held its last
meeting of 1986 on November 10 in the
Municipal Building. It was a very merry oc-
casion with over 50 people present for the
potluck supper, which offered items to meet
every taste, some of which were
irresistable!
Following this splendid repast the im-
mediate business was quickly resolved and
members then enjoyed a session of slides
taken by Harold Beakhurst, George Chap-
man and Alex McAlister. There was a great
variety from individual shots of great
delicacy to panoramas of Bayfield Gardens.
Also included were pictures of the trip of
Kincardine and the Garden Walk, and of
course, some very revealing candid camera
shots of unsuspecting members.
The evening concluded with the draw for
the gardening book donated by Justine Cho-
jnacka. This was won by Elva Metcalf, as
was the second prize, a rare and exotic
plant. Once again the Garden Club has had a
successful and busy year and has con-
tributed to the community by planting trees
and flower beds in the village.

Something for everyone
at Trinity Church bazaar
By Helen Owen
BAYFIELD - The Trinity Anglican Guild
held their Christmas Bazaar on November
15, and one had only to step into the Parish
Hall to realize what a tremendous, amount of
work had gone in to setting up and.presenta-
tion. There was something for everyone,
and as soon as the Rev. Aubrey Bell an-
nounced the bazaar open, keen purchasers
flocked to the displays choosing between
tempting baked goods, a wide variety of
crafted items, intriguing white elephants
and a lucky dip that ensured a prize.
It was a wonderful occasion to meet
friends and renew old acquaintences,
especially as one could do so comfortably
seated at the colorful tables where tea and
refreshments were served. And, what a
variety! Plates full of delicious squares
resembled the illustrations in a cookery
book, except that they were there to eat.
Altogether it was a very successful after-
noon and the ladies of the Guild are to be
congratulated on their endeavors and would
also like to express their appreciation of the
warm and generous support which they
received.
On Friday, November 28 Trinity ACW will
be holding their annual St. Andrew's Day
meeting beginning at 11 a.m. with a commu-
nion service in the Church. This will be
followed by a potluck luncheon. Since the
amalgamation of the Guild and the ACW has
been under discussion during the latter part
of this year considerations related to this
will be the subject to be dealt with, and it is
hoped that not only members of the Guild
and the ACW, but all women members of the
Anglican Church will make an endeavor to
be present.
As each week brings us nearer to
Christmas and all that it implies perhaps it
is time to consider those less fortunate. Sun-
day, December 7 is white gift day, an event
which octcurs annually, and which it is
hoped, will mean an opportunity to donate
gifts to be distributed to those in need.
