(Romans 15:6).
The "Jew's religion" brought about the
death of Jesus, Stephen and others. (Gala-
tians 1:13, 14) The Roman Catholic religion
has carried forward the doctrine of the "im-
mortality of the soul" and Protestantism
has unprotestingly followed suit. Whereas
the Bible says, "The soul that sinneth
SHALL DIE." (Ezekiel 18:4) (1 Timothy
6:16).
The whole idea of the "immortality of the
soul" had it's origin in the garden of Eden:
"Ye shall not surely .die!" (Genesis 3:4).
These facts are irrefutable. Therefore,
how could religion as we know it today, be
Ill."the greatest of all measures for the
establishment of order in the world and for
the peaceful contentment of all that dwell
therein?"
Sincerely,
C.F. Barney
Grossman
says Huron
County is
Tory country
Claiming that Huron County is "Tory
Country" and vowing to "retake it", Pro-
vincial Progressive Conservative party
leader Larry Grossman addressed party
faithful of the newly -formed Huron Riding
at a fund-raising dinner held in Brussels
October 17.
Grossman, the featured speaker at the
party's first official event since the riding
boundaries were changed recently,
delivered a lengthy attack on Liberal in-
cumbent MPP Jack Riddell and wound up
his speech with a promise to personally
support the Progressive Conservative can-
didate in the new riding in the next provin-
cial election.
"This Tory leader will be back here,"
Grossman promised.
"The Progressive Conservative Party
writes off no ridings. Huron, Bruce, Mid-
dlesex, Grey ... no ridings have a higher
priority than these. Not only are we going
to win (the next election), we are deter-
mined to win it here, in the southwestern
part of the province," he said.
Grossman accused the Liberal govern-
ment of failing to create new programs to
aid farmers, since coming to power. He
said the Ontario Family Farm Interest
Rate Reduction (OFFIRR) program is the
only Liberal farm intiative of significance.
"But an interministerial task force
recommended that OFFIRR be wound
down by 1988. It's interesting to note they
plan to abandon their only initiative,"
Grossman said.
Grossman said his party would in-
troduce a Family Farm Security Act,
which would give farmers a "guaranteed
price for their crops". Income support for
farm families would be fixed at 10 percent
above stabilization levels, he said, adding
that later, a formula would be developed to
link income support payments closer to the
cost of production.
Grossman was critical of Riddell's
handling of farm crisis, such as the hail
damaged -fruit in the Niagara region and
the more recent white bean fiasco. He said
Riddell's position that enchanted crop in-
surance could become an incentive for
farmers to leave their crops unharvested,
was "insulting".
"I don't believe there are many farmers
who would rather leave their crops on the
tree and collect insurance, than harvest
and sell them," said Grossman.
A capacity crowd was on hand for
Grossman's address at the $20 a plate af-
fair at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Com-
munity Centre auditorium.

With funds available from the Canada Manpower Department of the Federal Govern-
ment, the Clinton Public Hospital was able to renovate their board room and four offices.
A grant of $62,198 was received from the Federal Government through the Canadian Jobs
Strategy, Job Development Program. This provided funds for the renovations to the first
and second floors of the old section and created three new jobs for one year. This has
made it possible for CPH to use all of their fund raising revenue' for the proposed
obstetrical wing. Work began on the renovation project in January with the final work
completed in mid-September. On October 19, local dignitaries as well as the general
public were invited to an open house. MP Murray Cardiff, (right), cut the ribbon. Among
the local dignitaries present were (left to right), Mayor John Balfour, Sandra Balfour,
