VARNA - A large congregation attended
Varna United Church on Sunday for the
Thanksgiving service. The sanctuary was
beautifully decorated with colored leaves
and a table laden with the fruits of the
harvest, an annual ministry of Ivan and
Margaret McClymont.
Flowers in memory of Bill Reid and Ruth
Morrison also graced the front of the
church.
Rev. Samuel Parker's story for the
children was about the fulness of God's love,
and the sermon was based on the story of the
10 lepers who were healed by Jesus, only one

BLYTH - The Board of Directors of the
Blyth Festiva' announced that Tim Chap-
man will be assuming duties as general
manager of the Festival effective January,
1987.
Mr. Chapman will take over from current
General Manager Brenda Doner who is
leavng to pursue other interests.
Mr. Chapman comes to Blyth with seven
year's experience in arts administration.
The majority of his experience has been
with theatres similar in mandate to the
Blyth Festival, that is, with theatres that
produce primarily new .Canadian plays.
From 1979 to 1986 he held various positions
at Toronto's Tarragon Theatre, with duties
ranging from administration, fund-raising
and group sales to house management and
box office.
He also managed Tarragon's training and
rehearsal facility, the Maggie Bassett

Since January of this year he has also
been serving - as General Manager of
Masterclass Theatre, a Toronot-based
theatre that produces works from the
classical repertoire.
Mr. Chapman has also been an active
member of Theatre Ontario and of the
Toronto Theatre Alliance, and has had ex-
perience as a stage and film actor,as a
restaurant owner and manager, and as a
social worker. He was raised in New
Liskeard in Northern Ontario, but has ived
in Toronto for a number of years.
"I am eagerly looking forward to working
with a theatre of the Blyth Festival's stature
and reputation", said Mr. Chapman.
Mr. Chapman will be reside in the Blyth
area from November 3, 1986, with full duties
as general manager to begin in January,
1987.
UCW dessert
euchre results
BRUCEFIELD - The UCW here held a
dessert euchre and bake sale on October 7.
Fourteen tables of euchre were enjoyed with
Marjorie Caldwell of Clinton taking the high
hands. Margaret Thorndyke, also of Clinton,
had the low hands and Doreen Anderson of
Kippen had the most lone hands.

CHSS Art Club

This year the CHSS art club has 30 par-
ticipants, with the president being Vicki
Speziali.
Last year,the art club painted murals in
the music departmentt the gymnasium, and
on one of the corridors at the school.
Anyone driving by the school can see the
beautiful work they did last year on the front
windows orthe school for the formal, which
they do every year along with helping to do
the decorating.
They also do such projects as floats for
Klompen Feest and windows uptown on
special holidays.
At the present time, they are working at
the Vanastra Recreation Center and are
painting a wall mural in the swimming pool
area. Later on, they l/pe to do a mural at
the Lady Diana NntsirY in Vanastra.
They also go on trips and visit galleries
and museums and at the end of the year,
they have the chance to go to New York to
see some broadway plays and some art
galleries. •

ly renovated Conference Room, Board Room, and Ad-
ministrative Offices with Murray Cardiff and invited
guests on

were made possible from the proceeds of a grant receiv-
