He was 75 years old. Mr. Black was born in 1942 in Holmfield; Manitoba to the late Harvey and Lila (Cook ) Black. Mr. Black, who was a farmer in East Wawanosh and moved to Belgrave when he retired in 1977, is survived by his ,wife Florence ( Nethery ), and five children; Mrs. Malcom ( Margery 1 Lewis of London; Mrs. Gordon (Joan) Riley of Dungannon; Tom and his wife Connie; Keith and wife Barb of RR1 Belgrave and .Murray and his wife Mer- rilyn of Blyth; and nine grand children, Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Leslie I Hilda) Vincent and one brother, Stanley, of RR1 Belgrave. 'Funeral services were held on September 2 at McBurney Funeral Home with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Pallbearers were Harvey Black, Bryan Black, Eldon Cook, Clifford Coultes, Andy .Nethery and Wayne Vincent. Flower bearers were Dianne Nethery, Jodie Riley, Jennifer Black and Christina Black. Interment was in Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave. Leland Paul Walden Well known and former local doctor Leland Paul Walden died in Victoria, B.C. on August 27. He was 59 years old. Dr. Walden, who was born in London, On- tario on November 20, 1926 to the late Leland Stanford and Fdith Grace (Liddicoatt) Walden, graduated with a medical degree from the University of Western Ontario. He earned his Fellowship In the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada) and served on the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital, London, the Clinton Public Hospital and most recently practiced in Bayfield. He is survived by his former wife, Marny Galbraith and children Julia Anne Walden of Toronto; Sarah and Michael McNichol of Clinton; Catherine Walden of London; Elizabeth and Bradley Voisin of Varna and Peter and Marlene Walden of Peterborough. Also surviving are grandchildr Laura, Sarah and Scott McNichol of Cl nton and Jeffrey and Gregory Wa den of Peterborough. Mr. Walden was predecease 1 by his father in 1968, his mother in 197 and his sister, Anna Margaret Davies in 85. A memorial service will be h 1d today (September 3) at 1:30 p.m. at Bayfield United church with Rev. ookstra officiating. Interment will be in Bayfield emetery., Funeral director was Ball and Falconer Funeral Home. • Gerrit Klaas ,Gerrit Klaas, of Clinton, died 'n Clinton Public Hospital. on August 27. e was 70 years old. Mr. Klaas was born on Novemb r 16, 1915 to Hendrik Jan and Garrigje (Me nschijn) Klaas in Wierden (OV) in the Ne ti erlands. On June 9, 1939 he married Janna Kolkman in his home town. The Klaas' came to Canada in 1 54, living in Millgrove with his sister Mrs deWilde who was their sponsor. After a s ort time there, they lived in Orillia and D wnsview before moving to the farm they •urchased just south of Auburn in 1963. After living on the farm; they oved in 1973 to Blyth were they lived until iI oving to Clinton in 1975. The Klaas were j st in the process of moving to a new horn in Burl- ington at the time of Mr. Klaas' d ath. Mr. Klaas was a member of the hristian Reformed Church in Clinton. He is survived by his wife, . t o sons, Henry J.G. Klaas of Medicine Ha , Alberta and Murray Klaas of Burlington, and, nine grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, s. GERRIT KLAAS of Clinton died on Wednesday, August 27. Funeral service was held at the Clinton Christian Reformed Church, Saturday, August 30. DR. LELAND PAUL WALDEN of Victoria, British Columbia and formerly of Bayfield died on Wednesday, August 27, 1986. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Bayfield on Wednesday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Klaas was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. A funeral service was held on August 30 at the Christian Reformed Church, Clinton, with Rev. H. Samplonius officiating. A graveside service was held on September 2. Pallbearers were his two sons, Henry and Murray Klaas, Henry Baker, Case Dykstra, John Kassies Sr. and Ralph Postma. Interment was in Halton Hills Memorial Garden, Burlington. Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton, were the funeral directors. Billie Henry Manske Billie Henry Manske, 62, (•4 Goderich, died Friday: Aug. 29, 1986 at the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Son of the late William Carl Manske and the late former Gertrude Plate, he was born Oct. 5, 1923 in Kitchener. He joined the RCAF in 1942 and began his pilot's training in Goderich. He served overseas during the Second World War and continued his career on various bases in Canada and Europe until his retirement in 1969. Ile worked for many years at Huronview in Clinton. He and his wife Hollis (Kittner) resided in Goderich over the past three years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 140, Clinton. Surviving are his wife Hollis, his children Bryce and his wife Sandy, of Calgary, Dan- ny and his wife Nance, of Swift Current, Sask., Eric, of Palmerston and Dean and his wife Janet of Edmonton, one sister Marjorie Hallman, of Waterloo, four grandsons Grant, David, Warren and Kyle and three granddaughters Kim, Shawna and Sarah.
