Church services to resume
Ken Mulley was admitted by ambulance to
Seaforth Community Hospital on August 16.
Jennifer Sottiaux and Deana Lyon return-
ed home on August 13 after spending two
and a half weeks holidaying in Calgary with
Linda, David and Catharine Costantine, and
visiting Victoria, British Columbia and Ex-
po '86.

LONDESBORO - United Church services
will resume on August 24 at 11 a.m.
The Hope Chapel Cemetery decoration
and memorial service will be held on August
24 at 3 p.m. The service will be under the
leadership of pastor James Carne, minister
of Auburn Missionary Church.
The Hillcrest Restaurant and Gas Bar will
be closing on August 19 to reopen on August
28 under new management.

youngsters. The first game is scheduled for
9 am at both the Radford and the arena
diamonds. Everyone is welcome to come out
and to cheer the teams on.
This week also marks the ending of the
Blyth
Recreation. Program for the summer.
Three students, Catherine Battye, the
supervisor and conv4,nor, alppg will! the
assistance of Krista Walden and Dean Bell
cid an excellent job oil entertaining the
children during the holidays.
They did various crafts, had field trips,
outings, sleepovers to name a few activities,
which were thoroughly enjoyed by the par-
ticipants along with the mothers who were
given a bit of time to sit back and relax for
awhile.
Truck Fire
On August 18, the Blyth Fire Department
was called out to a truck tire near Rice's
Store, on the 13th of Hulled. The truck is
owned by T.B. Allen's Feed Mill,
Londesboro.

WI celebrates 30th

WALTON - The 'Walton Women's Institute
will celebrate its 30th Anniversaty at the
meeting tonight (August 20).
All branches from Huron East are invited
and guest speaker will be Leona Armstrong.
All members are urged to attend at 8:15
p.m. in the community hall.

Luella Montgomery, Seaforth and Gloria
Love enjoyed a bus trip to Brandon,
Manitoba recently where they visited
relatives and took in a family picnic.
Clint and Judy Emmerick arrived home
from a three-week motor trip to the west
coast, travelling through the States to Van-
couver where they took in four days at Expo
'86.
They returned home by the western pro-
vinces taking in places of interest both
ways. Jamie and Katie stayed with Clint's
parents in Kitchener for two weeks and the
remaining. weekwith their aunt Shirley and
family in London.
New Business Opens
On August 16 the Lite Bite Restaurant
opened for business in Walton in the, former
Doug Ennis store. It is.run by Ed and Tam-
my Chalmers and son Joshua from Mitchell.
Their Tight lunches consist of soups, sand-
wiches, salads, Lasagna, Spaghetti, meat
balls, dougle subs, etc. There are home
made tarts, doughnuts and pastries, which
will vary each week.
They plan to be open seven days a week,
and people can stop for take outs or eat in.
Mrs. Chalmers remarks that a grand
opening will possibly be in two weeks. We
welcome the Chalmers to the community
and wish them success in their new
restaurant.

Belgrave United Church hosted the llth An-
nual August Birthday Party in the Church
Schoolroom.
