Along the Parr Line . is a home that was
built back in 1880 by a man named George
Anderson. An early picture shows this home
with only small trees surrounding it, but to-
day, it is hard to see the home for the trees.
The present owners are Dave and Sandra
Turner who, took over in 1969. Prior to them,
Elmer and Helen Turner, Dave's parents,
. owned the farm: It was in 1936 that they took
possession from Dave's grandfather, David.
Although the present owners are unsure,
they believe that it was George Anderson
who built the home,Guying the land in 1854
from the Canada Co pany.
There have been few structural changes
made, but in 1954, the house was shortened
by Elmer Turner. As for the land, it has
changed hands once.
The original farm was located on Lot 9,
Concession 7 and Lot 8, Concession 7 for a
total of 200 acres. This land was bought by
Dave's great grandfather, who sold 100
acres of it in 1954. Dave's father then bought
it back in 1952.
Like most homes during that era, it saw
the birth of children, weddings and funerals,
which was the typical life style of early
settlers.
