A MASTERPIECE
Madeleine Rathwell (left), Mary Chessell, Dorothy Ostrom and Anna Keys were busy put-
ting the finishing touches on the Stanley Township Sesquicentennial Quilt on March 13 at the
township complex. Although these ladies were the only ones present on that day, several
others helped with the work. They were: Margaret Hayter, convenor; Norene Hayter,
Evelyn McKinley, Marg Elliott, Anna Wilson, Doris Wilson, Jean Henderson, Louise Ivan-
chenko, Ruth Johnston, Margaret Armstrong, Leona McBride, Maureen Hayter, Elizabeth
Clarke, Eileen Consitt, Annie Finkbeiner, Anne Broadfoot, Jeanette Turner, Jean McEwan,
hostess; Dorothy Talbot and Grace McClinchey. The quilt was designed and put together by
Sandra Turner, Kate Keys, Eleanor Hendrick and Ruth Ann Gingerich. (Anne Narejkoli

WIN A QUILT
Over the years, many Stanley Township
ladies busied their hands and minds making
quilts to keep their families warm during
the cold nights. To commemorate the work
' of these ladies, present day township
dwellers have produced quilts of their own..
Four individuals Will have their quilts on
display in the Complex auditorium with the
winner to be announced on August 1, the
first day of the big Homecoming 'Weekend.
Judging will take place earlier in the week,
however.
For those who don't feel. they have the
• time nor the energy to create.a quilt, yet ad-
mire the work and appreciate the warmth
they give, there will be a draw held for a
queen size quilt made by the sesquicenten-
nial quilt committee.
Tickets can be purchased from Sandra
Turner, Kate Keys, Eleanor Hendrick or
Ruth Gingerich and will be available until
the draw on August 2. The winner will be an-
nounced at the dance.
