Bayfield Garden Club went on a field trip in
every sense of the phrase. Their destination
was the farm, of Bernard Hack of
Kincardine.
It was a beautiful day for such an under-
taking, and on arrival members enjoyed a
picnic lunch in the garden of the farm.
Mr. Hack provided a chart showing the
methods employed and the layout of crop
rotation in his home garden. The party then
walked around and were able to see for
themselves the 'growing results' of the im-
plementation of his policies of organic
horticulture.
The second part of the outing was a tour
on a tractor -drawn flat in order to see the,
application of the methods on a wide scale
and involving a variety of crops.
Back at the farm the visit concluded with
an opportunity to inspect the bakery. Mr.
Hack's son is in charge of this operation
which bakes bread,using home produced
grains, and distributes over a wide area.
The next meeting of the Garden Club will
be on August 11 at mid-day - watch for
details.

Alt l ough many claim that the intricacies
of cricket are an insoluble enigma, the game
has retained its popularity in many coun-
tries throughout the world and is reported to
have been played for well over 250 years.
Basically it involves hitting a very hard
ball with a bat, with one of your oval side at
the other end of the pitch. Single runs score
when one or the other of these two fellows
hits the ball far enough for the exchange to
be made. However, hitting it beyond certain
markings means you do not need to run and
may score four or six.

Trinity Church
This week has seen the completion of the
work in restoring the interior of Trinity
Anglican Church.
This redecoration has been executed by
Mr. T. Grant Browne of Church Interiors,
Markham. In 1966, during the incumbency
of the Rev. L.C. Harrison, Mr. Browne's
father was responsible for the redecoration
program, and it is interesting to note that
this firm is the only church decorators in
Ontario, the present Mr. Browne represen-
ting the third generation.
The precious dove frieze has been
retouched, and the delicate blue of the sanc-
tuary enhances the colors of the stained
glass window. New murals have been add-
ed, and the symbols flanking the window
make a new impact with their fresh clear
appearance.
One other change has been the replace-
ment of the amber glass panels in the
lighting fixtures. Opaque glass has been us-
ed which provides a great improvement to
the overall effect of the decorative work.

BA''FIELD - The Knox Presbyterian

have attended, and they will be warmly
welcomed again this yeary and it, isc hoped,.
