Clinton and .area obituaries
Steven Caldwell
Steven Robert Caldwell of Brucefield,
died on July 7 in Goderich as a result of a
motor vehicle accident. He was 17 -years -
old.
Mr. Caldwell, who would have been enter-
ing Grade 11 this fall at Central Huron
Secondary School, was born on July 6, 1969
in Orangeville to Robert and Joan (Sharp)
Caldwell.
He is survived by his parents, grand-
parents William apd Ma�0orie Caldwell and
Mary Sharp, alj.,of Clinton. Also surviving is
a brother, Scott, of Brucefield.
Mr. Caldwell was predeceased by his
maternal grandmother,,Margaret Caldwell,
and his paternal grandfather, Alvin Sharp.
Funeral services were held on July 10 at
Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton,
with Rev. John Sharp, an uncle, officiating.
Pallbearers were Craig Caldwell, Paul
Caldwell, David Diechert, Mark Hoy,
William Hoy and Kevin Stirling.
Interment was in Baird's Cemetery.
Thomas Whittaker
Thomas David Whittaker of RR1
Brucefield, died on July 7 at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, as
a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was
15 -years -old.
Mr. Whittaker, who would have been
entering Grade 11 at Central Huron Secon-
dary School this fall, was born in Seaforth on
November 21, 1970 to Ross and Nancy
(Burgoin) Whittaker.
He was a member of Brucefield United
Church, a past member of the Maitland Air
Cadets and played ball hockey for the
Bayfield Devils.
Mr. Whittaker is survived by his parents,
one sister, Donna and one brother, George,
both at home. He is also survived by grand-
parents George and Violet Burgion of Huron
Park, Gladys Whittaker of Seaforth and
Garnet Whittaker of Stratford.
Funeral services were held on July 10 at
Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton,
with Mr. Donald Moffat of Stratford and
Rev. Samuel Parker of Varna United
Church officiating.
Jeffrey Popp was the flower bearer and
an honor guard of three air cadets from the
Maitland Air Cadets, Robert Hill, John Van
den Elzen and Craig Ritchie also acted as
flower bearers.
Pallbearers were Steven Dale, David Mof-
fat, Dale Reid, Jeffrey Telford, John Sauve
and brother George. Whittaker.
Interment was held in 13aird's Cemetery.
Dwayne Hutchings
Dwayne Anthony Hutchings of Bayfield,
died on July 8 in Sunnybrook Medical Cen-
tre, Toronto as a result of a motor vehicle
accident. He was 15 -years -old.
Mr. Hutchings, who would have been
entering Grade 10 this fall, was born in Ex-
eter on December 31, 1970.
He is survived by. his father, Tony Hut-
chings, and his stepmother, Judith Ann
(Craig) Hutchings, also of Bayfield. Also
surviving are three sisters; Barb of Ottawa;
Joanne and Sheryl, and one brother R.J., all
at home.
Mr. Hutchings is also survived by his
grandparents, Jim and Pearl Hutchings of
Bayfield, and Ron and May Sellars of Port
Lambton, Albert Craig of Bayfield and
Elliott and Myrtle Layton of Bayfield.
He is predeceased by his. mother, Betty
May Sellars and his grandmother, Helen
Craig.
Funeral services were held on July 12 at
Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton,
with Rev. John Hoekstra of St. Andrew's
United Church, Bayfield, officiating.
Flower bearers were Ian Sertsiema and
John Sauve and pall bearers were Andrew
Bullen, Dale Reid, Scott Easton, Brian

Clinton died on Wednesday, July 9, 1986.
Funeral service was held on Saturday,
July 12, 1986.

Lillian Groves
Lillian Beatrice Groves of Clinton, died in
the Clinton Public Hospital on July 9 at the
age of 83.
Mrs. Groves was born on October 26, 1902
in Sintaluta, Saskatchewan to Edwin. Whig
and Selena (Hamilton) Jervis. She was rais-
ed in Clinton and moved to Toronto and mar-
ried Douglas Shipley in 1952 and the couple
later moved to Kincardine. After Mr.
Shipley's death in 1962, she, moved back to
Clinton and in 1965 she married Arthur
Groves. He predeceased his wife in 1977.
Mr. Groves was a member of Ontario
Street United Church and a member of the
UCW.
She is survived by two step daughters,
Ruth Piper of London and Mrs. Mervin
(Helen) Nott of Egmondville; and one step
son, Clayton Groves of Clinton. She is also
survived by seven step grandchildren, five
great step grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
Mrs. Groves is survived by one borther,
Harold Jervis of Toronto.
She is predeceased by three brothers,
George, Bertram and Wilfred Jervis.
Funeral services were held on July 12 at
Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton,
with Rev. James Bechtel of Wesley -Willis
Church officiating as Rev. David Woodall of
Ontario Street United Church was away.
Pallbearers were Ross Jervis, Allan Jer-
vis, Kenneth Jervis, Robert Jervis, David
Jervis and Wyman Little.
Interment in Clinton Cemetery.

Grace Elizabeth. Ross, of London,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jermyn, of
Goderich and William Thomas Burton, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Burton, of London
were married June 21, 1986 at the
Metropolitan United Church with Rev.
Clark officiating. Maid of honor was Diane
Ross, of Goderich and bridesmaids were
Lisa Taylor, of London, Colleen Ashdown, of
London, Heather Bieseathal, of London and
Sheree Richards, of London. Ringbearer
was Christopher Jermyn, of Goderich.
Groomsman was Chris Richards, of London
and ushers were Ron Burton, of London,
Jim .Gashey, of London, Mike Kumph, of
London and Frank Scardino, of London. The
reception was held at the Nordan. After a
wedding trip to the Poconos Mountains, the
couple will reside at London.

Konarski-Divok
Betty Konarski, daughter Of Frank and Kay
Konarski of RR1 Blyth, and Derek -Divok,
son o't George and Mary Divok of Clinton,
were married on June 14 at St. Joseph's
Church, Clinton. Father J, Plata officiated.
Maid of honor was Teresa Konarski, sister
of the bride. Jan Divok, sister of the groom,
and Jill Clynick were bridesmaids. Best
man was Dave Williscraft. Ushers were
Steve Colclough and Jun Manning. Jenny
and Angie Konarski, nieces of the bride,
were flowergirls. Jason Konarski, nephew
of the bride, was the ringbearer. Music was
provided by Don and Sheila Johnston. A
reception was held at the Goderich
Township Hall in Hollnesville. After a
honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple will
reside in St. Catherines.

Sharon Ann McKenzie, daughter of Kenneth
and Gladys McKenzie of Clinton, and
Ronald Fletcher, son of Tom and Ruth Flet-
cher of Clinton, were married at Wesley -
Willis Church on June 21. Rev. Bechtel of-
ficiated. Maid of honor was the bride's
sister, Barbara O'Neil of London and best
man was Cameron Grigg of Clinton. Follow-
ing the Wedding; a reeeptiol1 was held at the
home of the bride's parents. The couple will
reside in Huron Park.
Pte. Michael Snelgrove
Pte. Michael Snelgrove, son of Marjorie and
Harold Snelgrove of Vanastra, graduated
from CFB Cornwallis on July 10 after com-
pleting.his basic training. He is present* at
CFB Kington f0rid Electronics Course.
Agricrew - helping farmers
HURON COUNTY - Agricrew is quickly
approaching the midway point of the pro-
gram. The crew members have been work-
ing extremely -hard despite the weather
conditions.
° The four Agricrews who work out of
Huron County have been kept busy helping
area farmers with haying, fencing,
weeding, and of course - picking stones.
At the present time, area -farmers are
needed to provide work for the Agricrews.
Bookings are needed for the time between
now and August 15. If you have any
agricultural related jobs that you just don't
have time to complete yourself, why not
give Agricrew a try. For $90 a day,
Agricrew may be hired up to a maximum of
five working days.
