Sutter. He reported to council on Monday night that all loans have been paid at the bank. Also, tax payments are good, with tax ar- rears on only two properties prior to 1959. IDWitnesses Must Install Drain Decides Council - Harold McNally, appearing before Clinton Town Council on Monday night was advised that the drain in front of the new Jehovah Witness Hall on Pugh's Terrace was an award drain, and the town was not responsible for making it a covered drain. Radio Station Licence For Goderich Denied - According to a- report from Ottawa last week, the Board of Broadcast Gover- nors last Thursday recommended for denial, two applications for a new 1,000. watt radio station at Goderich. Comment from the board was that licens- ing of a Goderich station woud not - at this time "assure the residents of Goderich of satisfatory local service and would en- danger the standard of service in Huron County generally. Colts Take Another Easy One From Sailors - For the third time this year the Clinton Colts took the Goderich Sailors igto, camp on the local ball diamond last Friday evening. "Gordie" Stock was on the mound for the Colts and pitched fine ball all the way, allowing the Sailors but five hits, he issued just two walks, and fanned four batters in the six innings played. 75 years ago July 13, 1911 Front Street Comes First - As the result of a spirited session on Monday evening the town council decided to at once begin the work of laying down macadam on Front Street, operations to begin at Fair's mill to which point macadam has already been laid. The demonstrator will be 'Miss Marjorie Goldie, graduate of the Mac- donald Institute, Guelph. Members of sur- rounding Institutes and ladies of town are cordially invited.
