Students to experience theatre first hand
The Huron Country Playhouse is busy
making ready for its "young" company
planned to arrive on June 4 and 5. Twenty
students from the Huron County School
system will have an opportunity to ex-
perience theatre first hand.
The session, prenamed The Drama Ex-
perience will take on a workshop format
with acting, directing, design, production,
administration, house and stage
management.
In addition, the students will work on pro-
ducing a number of short scenes and will
help build a prop for the season opener
Talents of Tap Dance
Company available
GRAND BEND —. Huron Country
Playhouse is able to offer the talents of the
National Tap Dance Company of Canada to
their audience.
On June 20 at 8:30 p.m. (one show only) a
mixed program will be presented showcas-
ing the versatility, originality, creativity,
and sheer entertainment of the Company.
People of all ages will enjoy and par-
ticipate in the energy and excitement
created on this electric evening. The pro-
gram contents range widely from a medley
of Beatle tunes, to a waltz sequence with
music by Anton Rubenstein. The Playhouse
feels that this will be a unique opportunity
for area patrons.
"We feel there are so many things
that can be done simultaneously with
the master plan and feasibility study to
help prepare for the next step assuming
a need is demonstrated for a new facili-
ty," Mrs. Koert stated.
"Obviously if the need (for a new
arena) is found not to exist, all we will
have done is some unnecessary
research and preparation."
Copies of the letter sent to the Elma
Township council were also sent to a
consultant for the Ministry of Recrea-
tion and Tourism, Perth MPP Hugh
Edighoffer and the Elma Township
PARCC (Parks, Arena, Recreation and
Community Centre) Board.
