President Bob Allan reported that the club had a most successful year due to the members themselves and the numbers of hours off volunteer work that goes into the club, serving of meals and food donated by members. Bob also welcomed new members from other clubs as well as first year curlers and hoped they would all be returning next year. Reports were heard from all executive members. Joyce Wilson, ladies' chairper- son, gave a detailed account of the ladies' activities during the year and reported that the ladies had been extremely active both in the club this year and in competition. Men's chairman Gary MacKay also reported a busy year for the men with three rinks advancing to the zone finals in competition. Gary presented the following trophies for the season of 1985-86. Falconer Mixed Trophy went to Bob Allan's team with Mary Hayward, Roy Vod- den and Carol Martin. Competitive League Trophy was won by Bob Allan's team with Ken Rogerson, Lloyd McKenzie and Stu Wilson. Men's Monday Night League 700 Draw Winners of first draw a rink of Ron Sellars, Mark Cantelon, Charlie Walker and Don McGregor. Second draw winners: Murray Adams, Bill DeJong, Gerry Johnston and Frank Nigh. Third draw winners: Ron Taylor, Bert Vandendool, Bill DeJong and Marvin Hayter. Reports were given by Chairperson and Chairmen, Bob Hayter, George Picot, Ken Faber, Matt Haney, Ruby Finlayson, Alex Townsend and Marg Rogerson. All remarks and reports were most- positive and en- couraging with thanks and appreciations conveyed to all who helped during the year whether it was their assistance at bingo, convening bonspiels, sending' food, prepar- ing meals, helping at bonspiels, helping with the ice or bar. With everyone's great co-operation it is in- deed known as the Curling Club with "Coun- Stirling. try Hospitality. Len Theedom, on behalf of all present, thanked the Executive for their outstanding contribution to the club this past year. He stated "Vanastra Curling Club is the envy of all clubs and it is the volunteer workers who make the club what it is today. "You've all done a hell of a job and we all appreciate it." Outgoing President Bob Allan conducted the election of officers with the new slate of officers for 1986-87 as follows: President - Ron Sellars; Secretary - Sandi Hayter; Treasurer -dV Jim Broadfoot; Ladies' Chairperson - Joyce Wilson; Men's Chair- man - Gary MacKay; Special Events - Bob Hayter; Ways & Means - George Picot; Bar - Ken Faber; Membership - Matt Haney; Catering - Leona Nigh; Bonspiel chairman - Murray Adams (with Bill Gibson assisting); Ice and House; Alex Townsend; Press 'Reporter - Marg Rogerson.
