to be part of celebrations
Although the annual
Klompen Feest celebrations
highlight the Dutch heritage,
the crowds that attend the
event are of all ethnic
backgrounds. And with the
variety of nationalities, there is
also a variety of religions.
On May 18, the Clinton
Ministerial Association will
hold an ecumenical service in
front of the grandstand. (Incle-
ment weather will force the ser-
vice to be held in the arena.)
Rev. David Woodall of the
Clinton Ontario Street United
Church will deliver the
message. The Central Huron
Secondary School band will be
providing the music while a
mass choir, consisting of
singers from churches in Clin-
ton and Holmesville, will per-
form under the direction of
Louise McGregor. A children's
choir will also perform.
As it is an ecumenical ser-
vice, clergy from the various
churches will be present and
banners have been made to add
to the atmosphere.
This unique service will start
at 2 p.m. and run for approx-
imately one hour on May 18.
