BLYTH - Congratulations to Lori Ann
Hesslewood, daughter of Reg and Betty
Hesselwood of Blyth, and Steve Howard, son
of John and Rita Howard of Lucknow, who
were wed in St. Joseph's Church,
Kingsbridge on Apr. 26.
Four local students - Kim Medd, Jenny
Allan, Scott Cronin and Michael Kerr sang
John Denver's For Baby at the ceremony.
Everyone then returned to Blyth Com-
munity Centre for a turkey supper prepared
WI learns
by the ladies of the Blyth Anglican Church.
The leaders of the Girl Guides and Brownies
assisted in serving.

Haggit, special prize.
The next euchre game will be held on May
1 5 at 8 p.m.

LONDESBORO - A workshop on the en-
vironment was attended by 25 members of
the WI on April 21. •
Lois Elliott opened the meeting and
Margaret Taylor introduced .the guest
speaker, Norman Alexander. Mr. Alex-
ander spoke on the misuse of the soil and the
need for more trees to be planted in the
area. To emphasize the need for more trees,
he said it would take the elm tree over 200
years to flourish again. The maple trees are
also showing signs of declining in
population.
Mr. Alexander gave a slide show presen-
tation which explained the effects of erosion
in the area which were very interesting.
A full house enjoyed the Hullett Central
Public School Spring Concert on April 23.
The junior band played five numbers while
the kindergarten class gaye two perfor-
mances. The senior choir sang two numbers
and the Grade 2 class favored the audience
with some Songs of Experience. The Grade 7
and 8 classes put on a pop -rock operetta call-
ed Teen. Principal Ron Jewitt was the MC
for the evening.

Hullett school on May 1 at 7 p.m. The fiddler
is Arnold Craig and playing the piano is
Marie Flynn.' The special guests are Barb
and Lisa Bosman and Audrey Thompson.
Collection at the door. Everyone is

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Allen returned home on
April 24 after spending twoweeks holiday-
ing in Florida.

A family gathering was held at the home
of Jack and Marion Snell on April 27. Six of

and Deron of Ingersoll; Rick and Faye
Snell, Laura and Kerri of Mitchell; Bonnie
and Ross Jewitt, Lori and Scott of Clinton;
Barb and Allan Bosman, Lisa, Kelly and
Amy of Londesboro and Brenda Ann Snell,
Danny and Timmie of Exeter.
Bob Burns was transferred from Clinton
Public Hospital to St. Joseph's Hospital in
London on April 24. •
• Mr. and Mrs. Russell Good and Mr. and
Mrs. John Lyons attended the 25th anniver-
sary of nephew Tom and Hennie Yungblutt
in Woodstock on April 25.
A large number from here attended the
Forresters Ladies' card party in Kinburn on
April 22.
United Church
Greeting the congregation for the Sunday
service were Rev. Snihur and Jim
Jameison. The ushers were Tracy Salverda,
Connie Hoggart and Sandy and Julie
Merner.
Rev. Snihur welcomed everyone and an-
nounced the Messengers will meet on May 4.
The Mother's Day family dance will be held
at the school on April 9 at 8 p.m. Tickets are
being sold on a beautiful Mother's Day plate
donated by Middaugh's Collectables in Clin-
ton. Good Will trucks will be picking up used
clothing and articles at the church on May
14.
For children's time, the song God is a Sur-
prise was sung. Junior teachers for April 27
were Sylvia Trick and Brent Radford.
The scripture lesson was from Leviticus
chapter 19. The Sunday laws were repeated
from Matthew. -- Love Your Enemies. The
sermon was The Levels of Love.

Seniors held their April meeting. in the
memorial hall on April 23 with vice-
president Hary McDowell in charge.
After a lively sing -song, the business
period was held which was followed by an
interesting program.

McDowell played several lively violin

George Harrower then shared their trip to
China with those present. He showed many
interesting slides of life in China and gave
