Interment in Hope Chapel Cemetery in Hullett Township. Trend is to influence Christianity CLINTON - "...for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations." Rev. Samplonius, pastor of the Christian Reformed Church, in one of his recent ser- mons spoke on the subject of compartmen- talization and Christianity. The trend in this society is to limit the influence of Christiani- ty to certain compartments of life, namely, church and perhaps home. This runs counter to the reformed view, which sees Christ as sovereign in all spheres or compartments of life. That is the reason why many Christians of the reform- ed persuasion, and increasingly other Chris- tians establish Christian schools 'where Christ is recognized as sovereign, and the fear of the Lord is the basis of education. Other groups that seek'to bring Christian views and influence to their particular sphere are the Christian Labour Association and Christian Farmers. These groups don't have an easy task in society where so often it is man that is supreme and God is pushed in the background or ignored in decision making. The nursery, washroom, and educational facilities are becoming, increasingly inade- quate. The birth rate of the congregation has been quite high the last years and shows no sign of slowing! Several new arrivals have been welcomed to the congregation recently. The congregation was saddened with the passing of Winnie Vanden Dool after a lengthy illness.
