ntennial School held their science fair on April 2 with the
top six finishers in Grade 7 and 8 going to the county level later in
April. The top Grade 8 finishers were, (back row, left,) Teresa Van

Hensall United Church Women see film

HENSALL - Captain Ronald A. MacKin-
non and his wife Dorothy from Kingston
spent the Easter Holidays with his another,
Janet MacKinnon.
UCW News
Unit I of the Hensall United Church
Women held their meeting on April 2. The
Devotional was taken by Helen Schne. She
opened with a reading and followed this with
a poem about Easter.
Belva Fuss showed a film on 'The Native
Peoples'.
The meeting closed with Audrey Christie
reading a poem. A lunch was served by
Alice Ferg and Audrey Christie.
Rebekahs Meet
The regular meeting of Amber Rebekah
Lodge was held April 2. Vice Grand Sister
Lois Jones presided assisted by Vice Grand
Sister Bonnie Upshall.
It was reported that Sister Edith Bell has
been admitted to Stratford Hospital for
tests.
District Deputy President Sister Leona
Connelly will be making her official visit on
April 16. The Lodge will be having a banquet
at the Carmel Presbyterian Church at 6:15
p.m. on that evening in her honor.
Members were also reminded of the
dessert euchre to beheld on Wednesday,
May 14 at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Shuffleboard
Many people who turned out on Thursday
morning to help install the two new shuf-
fleboard courts.
There was a good turn out for shuf-
fleboard in the afternoon. High scorers
were: Pearl McKnight -315, Ernie
Chinehase-289, John Pepper -279, and Eileen

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Mason who celebrated their 40th wedding
!anniversaigk on April 5.

Belgrave and area attended the stash hi..th
day party in honor of Dan Hallahan of
Blyth. It was held at Snell's restaurant,
Westfield, on Sunday afternoon. Dan and his
family were former residents of Belgrave
for several years. •
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McDonald, Mr. and
Mrs. John Davies, Shannon and Christopher
of Brussels were dinner guests of Mrs. Bert
Johnston on Sunday.
' Harold Keating spent Easter weekend
with his sister Mrs. Stanley Snell and nieces
Eileen Beecroft and Shirley Guite, all of
London. He also visited with Mr. and Mrs.
David Beecroft and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Beecroft and family of London, Mr. and
Mrs. Jeff Bradley and Erica of of
Dorchester. •

and Mrs. Murray Scott and Jeff were Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Dale of Seaforth, Laurel
Glousher Karen Graham and Vickie, and

Mrs. Harvey Snell of Blyth,. Kathy Hoegy
and Crystal., Jack Baker of Mount Forest,
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Phillips of Seaforth
and David Pletch of Belgrave.
Melanie Scott of Toronto and Meribeth
Scott of London were weekend visitors with
their parents Mr. and Mrs. Murray Scott.
Peter Mason of Wroxeter, George and
Nancy O'de1L of Lipton, Saskatchewan,
Wanda Mason of New Hazelton, B.C., Barry
Mason of Belgrave, Brenda Ward and fami-
ly of Monkton and Bruce and Lorna William-
son and family of Harriston held an open
house and tea for their parents Ken and
Beulah Mason on April 5 in the Belgrave In-
stitute Hall in honor of their 40th wedding
anniversary, which fell on April 10. Many
relatives, neighbors and friends attended.

Jessie Armstrong has returned from
hospital this past week.
The tenants had a good turn out at the
pot luck supper last Monday night.
The Chipchases are busy attending
hockey games to see their family play.
Church News
' "Something Happened to Me• in Church
Last Sunday and I've Never Been the Same
Since," was the sermon title at the United
Church on Sunday Morning. Mr. McDonald
based his thoughts on Psalm 73.,
Mrs. Norma Pryde was the organist for
the service and led the choir. Glen Hayter
greeted the congregation and• the ushers
were Ross Veal, Lloyd Ferguson, Lorne
Gackstetter and Dennis Martin.
The flowers at the front of the church were
placed in loving memory of Ella Drysdale
by hbr family.
Following the service, everyone enjoyed a
fellowship hour over coffee and cookies in
the Fellowship Hall.
