Time to prepare for ball
Yes sports fans, it's that time of year
again. It's time to dig out the baseball
gloves, dust off the bats and don the tradi-
tional caps.
T -ball, which is under the jurisdiction of
the Ontario Baseball Association through
the Western Ontario Athletic Association
(WOAA), is now being organized throughout
the province. This year, championship tour-
naments will be held in six regions.
There are a total of four classifications
with towns under the population of 8,000 fall-
ing into the "D" division. The age limit for
T -ball players is nine -years -old or younger
as of August 1.
A T -ball game runs five innings in length.
Oldtimers Ball
Oldtimers baseball is held throughout On-
tario with several sites used for champion-
ship tournaments. One of the tournaments
will be the Tillsonburg Invitational on July
11-13.
Players must be 35 -years -old and proof of
age is required. Tams must register direct-
ly with the Ontario Baseball Association by
July 15.
For further information, call Hugh
Hodges at 482-7963 or the WOAA office at
357-3512 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
