CLINTON - The Clinton Atoms outhustled
Wingham and drubbed them 5 -1. It was on-
ly the fine Wingham goaltending that
prevented the score from being much higher
in the game played in Clinton on February
17.

on a goal by Shawn Chipchase. The goal was
set up beautifully by linemate Jason Carter
who outraced a Wingham defenceman for
the puck along the boards before passing out
to Chipchase who was parked all alone in
front of the net for the goal.
Wingham's Matthew Hunter tied it up at
the 0:43 mark of the second as his long shot
fooled Derek Hoggarth in the Clinton goal.
But, before the period ended Clinton's Mark
Livermore scored his 20th goal of the season
on a deflection from a Danny Wildfong shot.
In the third Clinton continued to dominate
play as Scott Rathwell scored his first of two
goals at 1:05 on a powerplay. Shane Mac-
Donald earned the assist on the goal. Less
;,r•than a minute later Shawn Chipchase's se-
''''abird goal of the gameincreased the lead to 4
- 1. It was Jason Carter again who did the
spade work on the goal and earned the only
assist. Scott Rathwell closed out the scoring
at 5:40 as he picked up a dropass from
Chris Kennedy before beating the goalie
with a low drive.
