Perry Ferguson
The Reverend Percy Alexander
Ferguson, of Chesley and formerly of Hen-
sall, died on February 3. He was 78.
Reverend Ferguson was the Presbyterian
Minister in Hensall in 1945. He is survived
by his wife Jo, daughter Judith and sons,
Rod, Trevor and Jamie. Also surviving are
several grandchildren.
A memorial service was held in St. An-
drew's Presbyterian Church in Owen Sound
on February 11.
William Heard
William T. Heard, a retired farmer in
Stanley Township, died at his RR3 Bayfield
ome on February 5. He was 81.
Mr. Heard was born in Bayfield on
September 13, 1904 to William and Eleanor
(Scotchmer.) Heard. He was a member of
St. Andrew's United Church in Bayfield.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Delbert
(Nina) Haw of RR3 Bayfield, and two
brothers Russell Heard of . Bayfield and
Fred Heard of Stratford. He was predeceas-
ed by one sister Lillian.
The funeral service was held at the Beat-
tie Funeral Home in Clinton on February 7.
Rev. Paul Murray of St. Andrew's United
Church in Bayfield officiated. Interment at
the Bayfield Cemetery.
Evelyn Johnston
Evelyn Elizabeth Johnston, formerly of
Bayfield and Sault Ste. Marie, died at the
McCormick Home for the Aged on February
4.
A former teacher, Mrs. Johnston was the
daughter of John Henry and Mary Jane
( Castle) Pollock. She was the wife of the late
Robert B. Johnston. She was a member of
Trinity Anglican Church.

Mrs. Johnston was the aunt of Helen
Brownlee and Harold Holman of London.
She was predeceased by two sisters and one
brother.
The funeral service was held at the Beat -
ie Funeral Home in Clinton on February 6.

Franceiszek Kloskowlcz
Franceiszek (Frank) Kloskowicz, of
Huronview and formerly of Clinton, died at
Huronview on February 6. He was 89 -years -
old.
Mr. Kloskowicz was born on October 9,
1896 to Pawel and Maria (Wojick)
Kloskowicz in Slocina, Poland. He was the
husband of Anna Kawa.
Mr. Kloskowicz was a military man for
many years and had reached the rank of
lieutenant -colonel in the Polish army. He
served in both World War I and World War
II as well as in the 1924 war between Poland
and Russia. He was also a professor in the
military academy and the president of the
Polish group when he first came to this area.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kloskowicz
was employed in the civil service at the

MR. WARD KNOX of Clinton died on Wed-
nesday, February 5, 1986. Funeral service
was held on Saturday, February 8, 1986.
MR. FRANCEISZEK (FRANK)
KLOSKOWICZ of Clinton died on Thursday,
February 6, 1986. Funeral mass was held at
St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Clinton
on Saturday, February 8, 1986.
Canadaian Forces Base in Clinton.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church, Clinton, and a member of
the Royal Canadian Legion, Clinton Branch
140.
Mr. Kloskowicz is survived by his wife,
two sisters in Poland and several neices and
nephews.
Prayers were held at the Ball and
Falconer Funeral Dome on February 7 with
Rev. John Pluto leading. A memorial
service held by the Royal Canadian Legion,
Clinton Branch, followed.
The funeral service was held on February
8 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church
with Rev. Pluto officiating. Pallbearers
were Stanley Augustynowicz, Stanley
Pluzak, both of London, Stanley Kochan of
Hensall, Donald Armstrong, Gordon Tait
and George Yeats, all of Clinton. Each
pallbearer is a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion.
In a final tribute, Mr. Kloskowicz was laid
to rest with the playing of the Last Post.
Interment was held in the Clinton Cemetery.
Wallace Ward Knox
Wallace Ward Knox of Clinton, died in
University Hospital, London, on February 5.
He was 77 -years -old.
Mr. Knox was born on December 4, 1908 to
George and Jane (Jenny McGregor) Knox.
On December 11, 1937 he married Winnifred
R. Nott at the United Church Manse in
Egmondville. Following their marriage, the
Knox's farmed on the home farm in Hullett
Township until 1963. when they sold it and
moved to Clinton.
After leaving the farm, Mr. Knox became
a salesman for Gingerich Electric, then he
ran the Clinton Bowling Alley. After selling
the bowling alley, he became a salesman
with Huron Tractor in Exeter and remained
with them until his retirement.
Mr. Knox was a member of Ontario Street
United Church, Clinton, and a member of
Constance Court No. 157 of International
Foresters.
Mr. Knox is "survived by his wife, one
daughter", Mrs. Ross (Shirley) , Carter of
Clinton, and one son, Ronald of Thorold. He
is
also survived by three grandsons,
Gregory, Sheehan and Daniel Carter.
Mr. Knox is survived by two sisters, Mrs.
Lorne (Mary) Marshall of Toronto and Mrs.
Graydon (Olive) Neal of Clinton.
He is predeceased by one sister, Mrs.
Evelyn Appleby, and one brother, Ernest.

A memorial service was held at Ball and
Falconer Funeral Home on February 7 by
Constance Court •No. 157 of the Canadian
Foresters. Funeral services were held on
February 8 at Ball and Falconer Funeral
Home with Rev. David Woodall of Ontario
Street United Church officiating.
Flowerbearers were Fred Deichert,
Frank McCowan' and Melvin Webster, all of
Clinton. Pallbearers were •Jack McEwing,
Watson Reid, both of RR 1, Blyth, William
Leiper of RR 1, Londesboro, Leslie Reid of
Londesboro, Art Colson and Clayton Groves,
both of Clinton.
Interment was held in the Clinton
Cemetery.
R.P. (Robbie) Robbins
Robert Perry (Robbie) Robbins died sud-
denly in London while attending a seminar
on February 4. He was 59 -years -old.
Mr. Robbins, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Robbins, was born in Saskat-
chewan on May 25, 1926. Mr. Robbins was
known in Clinton where he served with the
RCN and later with the RCAF. Following his
discharge, he served with.the OPP and later
became Chief of the Richmond Hill force.
Later he became a Justice of the Peace, sta-
tioned for the last few years in Hamilton.
On September 3, 1947, Mr. Robbins mar-
ried Eileen Sutter of Clinton, in Wesley -
Willis United Church.
Mr. Robbins is survived by his wife, two
sons, Ronald of Stouffville and David of
Didsbury, Alberta; two daughters, Mrs.
W.C. (Linda) Cowan of Whitby and Mrs.
Jeff (Kim) Barnes of Gravenhurst; and
eight grandchildren. Also surviving is one
sister, Mrs. Clayton ( Betty) Doerr of
Carstairs, Alberta.
Mr. Robbins was the brother-in-law of Mr.
and Mrs. Benson Sutter of Clinton and Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Pollock of Cambridge.
Funeral services were held in Trinity
United Church, Gravenhurst on February 8
with Rev. Robert Sherwin officiating and
Rev. Donald Deas of Zion United Church,
Hamilton, assisting. Spring interment will
take • place in Mickle Memorial Cemetery,
Gravenhurst.
John Shobbrook
John Stanley Shobbrook of Victoria, B.C.
and formerly of Toronto and Clinton, died on
January 29 following a lengthy illness. He
was 80 -years -old.
The only son of J. Wesley and Ethel
(Keen) Shobbrook, he was born in Toronto
on November 20, 1905. In 1912 the family
moved to RR4 Clinton to take up residence
in the Shobbrook family home.
Mr. Shobbrook received all of his school-
ing at Hullett Township School. After work-
ing in Clinton, Toronto and Buffalo, he settl-
ed in Toronto where he was employeed at
Canada Cartage System until retiring in
1983 at the age of 78. In 1984, Mr. Shobbrook
and his wife moved to Victoria to be close to
their. daughter.
Mr. Shobbrook was predeceased by his
father in 1958, his mother in 1966 and his son,
John Wesley in 1949.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years,
Evelyn (CumineKShobbrook, his daughter,
Mrs. R. (Barbara) Joslin, and grand-
children Mrs. P (Carolyn) Rioux and Cheryl
and Robert Joslin.
Mr. Shobbrook is also survived by great-
grandchildren Nicole and Jacqueline Rioux
and sisters Ann Willard of Buffalo and Mrs.,•
W. (Ruth) Hall of Toronto.
A private family service was held on
January 31 at McCalls Funeral Home with
interment in the Royal Oak Burial Park,
Victoria. Rev. C.A. (Tony) Thompson of-
ficiated.

Students from Grade 4-8 are now prepar-
ing to say speeches for the annual public
speaking contest, sponsored by the Royal
Canadian Legion. The best speakers from
the school will enter the local contest on
February 20, to compete against neighbor-
ing schools.
Lynn Poortinga
Every year, the students of CDCS par-
ticipate in a Fine Arts Festival, organized
by the Woodstock District • of Christian
Schools. This year it is to be held in London
on April 4. Right now preparations are being
made.
Students can try out for vocal music -
choir, solos, duets, trios; also there is in-
strumental music classes.
Interpretive reading, poetry reciting, and
choral speaking are also part of this
festival.
