formerly of Barker St., London, in his 58th year.
Beloved husband of Mrs. Mary (Fitzpatrick)
Helm; dear father of Mrs. Dan (Linda) Thomas,
London; loving grandfather of Craig. Predeceas-
ed by son Michael (1979). Visitation in the
Needham Funeral Chapel, 520 Dundas St. (Friday
2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.) where the funeral service
was conducted on Saturday, February 8 at 9:30
a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. -7
KLOSKOWICZ
At Huronwiew on Thursday, February.6, 1986, Mr.
Franceiszek (Frank) Kloskowicz of Clinton, in his
90th year. Beloved husband of the former Anna
Kowa. Also survived by two sisters in Poland, as
well as several nieces and nephews. Mr.
Kloskowiczwas a Lt. Colonel in the Polish Army
and servein both World War I and World War 1I.
While in Poland, Mr. Kloskowicz was a professor
in the Military Academy. When he came to
Canada, he was president of the Polish group
during the mid -1950's and was employed with
the air force. Friends were received at the Ball &
Falconer Funeral Home, 153 High Street, Clinton
on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral mass
was held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church,
Clinton on Saturday, February 8 at 11 a.m. Inter-
ment Clinton Cemetery. --7

At University Hospital, London on Wednesday,
February 5, 1986, Mr. Ward Knox of Clinton, in
his 78th year. Beloved husband of the former
Winnifred Nott. Dear father of Shirley and her
husband Ross Carter of Clinton and Ronald Knox
of Thorold. Also loved by three grandchildren
Gregory, Sheehan, and Daniel Carter. Also sur -
Lived by two sisters Mary (Mrs. Lorne Marshall)
of Toronto and Olive (Mrs. Graydon Neal) of
Clinton. Predeceased by one sister Evelyn Ap-
pleby and one brother Ernest Knox. Friends were
received at the Ball & Falconer Funeral Home,
153 High Street, Clinton on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7
- 9 p.m. Funeral service was held in the funeral
home on Saturday, February 8 at 3 o'clock. Inter-
ment in Clinton Cemetery. --:--7

Street, Stratford; in his 46th year. Husband of
Gloria (Neil) Otto. Father of Karen. Son of Mrs.

Elaine and husband Rev. James Bechtel, of Clin-
ton, Joan and husband Angus MacDermid of
Stratford. Predeceased by brother Bruce. Friends

Grace United Church, Tavistock, Tuesday,

Barnes, Gravenhurst. Also survived by 8 grand-
children and one sister, Mrs. Clayton Doerr,
Carstairs, Alta. Mr. Robbins was a brother-in-law
of Mr. and Mrs. Benson Sutter, Clinton, and Mr.
and Mrs, Robert Pollock, Cambridge. Funeral
services were conducted at Trinity United Chur-
ch, Gravenhurst, on Saturday, February 8, with
spring interment to take place in Mickle
Memorial Cemetery. -7

February 8, 1986, Mr. George Alfred Wilson, of
R.R. 3, Bayfield, in his 80th year. Beloved hus-
band of the late Pearl Luella Gellman (1971).

Jack of London, Mrs. Pearl Saylor of Newbury,
and Peggy (Mrs. Harvey Lynn) of Detroit. Mr.
Wilson is predeceased by one sister Dora (Mrs.
Jack Lee) and by one brother Fred. Also surviv-

Zurich Chapel of Michael P. O'Connor Funeral
Homes; where the. funeral and committal ser-
vices were conducted on Tuesday, February 11 at
2 p.m. Spring interment in St. Peter's Lutheran

On Wednesday, January 29, 1986 at Victoria,
B.C., John Stanley, formerly of Toronto and Clin-
ton, Ontario, in his 81st year, entered into rest
after a lengthy illness, courageously fought.
Beloved husband of Evelyn (Cumine) Shobbrook,
Victoria. Loving father of Barbara (Mrs. R.
Joslin), Victoria and the late John Wesley Shob-
brook. Loved grandfather of Carolyn (Mrs. P.
Rioux), Cheryl and -Robert Joslin. Great-
grandfather of Nicole and Jacqueline Rioux all of
Victoria. Dear brother of Mrs. Ann Willard, Buf-
falo, New York and Ruth (Mrs. W. Hall), Toronto.
Private family service was held Friday, January
31, 1986 with interment in Royal Oak Burial Park,

R.R. 2, Goderich, Sharon Trewartho of Toronto,
Janice (Mrs. Paul Brettle) of Ottawa, Rosanne
(Mrs. Christopher Hanley) of Toronto and Drew
of London. Dear brother of Edith Sandusky of
Alliston, Marion (Mrs. Frances Powell) of R.R. 3,
Clinton, Douglas Middleton of Tobermory, Phyllis
(Mrs. Keith Tyndall) of R.R. 1, Clinton, Ruth (Mrs.
Edwin Tufts) of London, June (Mrs. Allan White)
of Ottawa and Lois (Mrs. John McKenzie) of
Ridgeville. Predeceased by brothers Bert and
John. Also surviving are six grandchildren.

Home, 55 Rottenbury Street East, Clinton.
Funeral service was held on Monday, February
10, 1986 from St. James' Anglican Church, Mid-
dleton, commencing at 2 p.m, with Rev. Aubrey
Bell officiating. Interment in Bayfield
Cemetery. -7
WALKOM
Evelyn Mae, at the Kitchener Waterloo Hospital
on Sunday, February 9th, 1986 after a lengthy il-
lness, 72 years of age. A member of St. James
Rosemount United Church. She taught school for
40 years, mostly in Kitchener and retired from
Suddaby School. Sister of Irene Ferguson of Lon-
don, Ruth Shaddick of Londesboro, Doris Snyder
of Kitchener and Charles Walkorn of Fullarton;
also surviving are 17 nieces and nephews as well
as 26 great-nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her parents Annie (nee Doupe)
and Lloyd Walkom: sisters Geraldine Habkirk
and Lulu Reed. Visitation at the Schreiter-
Sandrock Funeral Home & Chapel, 51 Benton at
Church Streets, Kitchener. Funeral service was
held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Schreiter-
Sandrock Chapel. Reverend John R. Cousens of-
ficiated. Spring interment in Munro Cemetery,
Mitchell. -7

Pharmacist to speak in Kippen

KIPPEN-The public relations meeting
will be held on February 19 at 8 p.m. at the
home of Ruby Triebner of Brucefield for the
Kippen East WI. Roll call is to be answered
by, How do you postpone old age? Speaker
will be Trevor Wilson, a pharmacist from
Exeter.

On February 6, Rena Caldwell, Frances
Kinsman, Margaret Hoggarth, Mona Alder -
dice and her granddaughter Jennifer Lynn
Alderdice surprised a former Kippen resi-
dent Grace Drummond, now of Exeter, on
the occasion of her birthday.
Vern and Mona Alderdice and daughter
Lynn Alderdice hosted a dinner party on
February 8 to several friends and
neighbours. After a turkey supper, cards
were enjoyed with two tables of six in pro-
gression. Man's high was won by Jack
Caldwell, with Garry Alderdice capturing
second prize, and Emerson Coleman receiv-
ing the men's low. Myra Lovell obtained the
ladies' high, Audrey Coleman came second
with Rena Caldwell and Janice Alderdice ty-
ing for ladies' low. Myra Lovell received a
prize for a February birthday.
United Church News
Rev. Lorne Keays presided in the pulpit of
St. Andrews on February 9. His sermon was
on Now Speak. He expounded by saying,
"There are times in our lives when we
should speak out for what is right, and for
what we believe in."
Barbara Cooper accompanied the hymns
on the organ. The World's Day of Prayer
Service will be held in the Brucefield Church
on March 7 at 2 p.rn.
Scouts and Guides prepare
for weeklong activities
CLINTON - The Scouts and Guides are
gearing up for an action packed' week
starting February 15 and running until
February 23. All of the activities are
planned in conjunction with Scout -Guide
Week.
Cubs will kick-off the celebrations with a
Cub Kar Rally at the Blyth Memorial Hall
on February 15. Area Cubs will test their
handmade cars against each other from 1-3
p.m.
On February 17, the Guides will meet at
the Clinton Legion from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The
following evening will be the Brownies'
meeting at the Legion from 7-8:30 p.m. while
the Pathfinders will listen to three guest
speakers at Clinton Public School from 7-9
p.m.
On February 20, the entire Scouting
Movement will enjoy a banquet with a guest
speaker at the Ontario Street United
Church, This event will run from 6:30-8:30
p- m.
The weekend will start with a winter fun
day at the Clinton Raceway on February 22.
The activities will get underway at 1 p.m.
and finish around 4 p.m.
The weeklong events will conclude on
February 23 with a church parade at St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church and a
pancake brunch •at the Legion. The church
parade gets underway at 10 a.m. with the
brunch starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 2
p.m.
Road show coming home

Mrs, Anna Kloskowicz, wife of the late Frank
Kloskowicz, wishes to express sincere thanks to
friends for acts of kindness in her time of sorrow,

education's education committee.
Last year the committee held their mon-
thly meetings at various schools around the
county, learning the detail on those schools.
This year because of the distances some
trustees would have to travel, Van den
Broeck said the tours have been limited.
The committee will visit Brussels public
school in March, Colborne Central Public
School in April and Seaforth District High
School in September. These meetings will be
in the afternoon and the regular education
committee meetings, which are open to the
public, will'be held at the education centre
in Clinton in the evening.
