GRACE BUFFING of Clinton died on Thursday, January 9, 1986. Funeral service was held on Monday, January 13, 1986. MRS. IRENE TOWNSHEND formerly of R.R. 2 Bayfield, died on Wednesday, January 8, 1986. Funeral service was held on Friday, January 10, 1986. Agnes Irene Townshend passed away at Huronview on January 8 in her 90th year. A liffelong resident of Goderich Township, she was born on the 4th con. to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Harrison and was married to the late Ernest Townshend on July 24, 1918. She was also predeceased by one daughter, three brothers and six sisters. Left to mourn her passing are one son, William and his wife, Bessie, two daughters, Anna and her husband, William Blatchford, Atwood and Joyce and her husband, William Morrison, London. Also loved by eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. The funeral and committal services were held at the Ball & Falconer Funeral Houle, Clinton on Friday, January 10 with Rev. James Bechtel officiating. Spring interment will follow in Bayfield cemetery. Luncheon enjoyed by unit CLINTON - The Afternoon Unit of Ontario Street United Church held a potluck lun- cheon in the Ladies Parlour on January 7. There were 28 members and eight visitors. Rev. David Woodall said the blessing and all enjoyed a meal and social time. The meeting was opened by Marion Powell. Gertrude read a poem on the New Year. A hymn was sung with Lorna Radford at the piano. Helen Potter read the scripture taken from Luke 6 verses 27-36. Vera Mac- Donald gave a reading. Lula also took up the offering which was dedicated by Marion. The minutes of'the last meeting were ap- proved as written. There were 19 home calls and 10 hospital calls made. Lula read the treasurer's report. Huronview asked for used envelopes. The Afternoon Unit is to supply flowers for the month of January. On January 14 at 2 p.m. the U.C.W. General meeting will be held in the Ladies' Parlour. Thank you notes were read and one from Friendship House. It was reported the ladies are in the process of making another quilt. Marion gave a Bible quiz and then closed the meeting with prayer.
