Murray Speirs. This book was launched in December at Hart House, University of Toronto, and is regarded as a major publication. Of special interest (and pride) to residents of Clinton is the fact that of the 345 glorious bird photographs, 245 were taken by a native - of Clinton, Victor Crich, F.R.P.S., who was born in 1898 on Vinegar Hill at the north end of Clinton. He was the „ youngest son of Eliza Glazier Crich, and Onslow Crich, Clinton'spoliceman. Di'- Speirs completed undergraduate work in mathematics and physics, and obtained degrees in zoology, specializing in or- nithology. For many years he taught at the University of Toronto m the Zoology Depart- ment. He is now retired, and continues his research with his ornithologist wife Doris H. Speirs.
