defeated them last spring to capture the
W.O.A.A. Atom CC championship.
This game was just as close and exciting
as the otkier games they nave playeu.

minute mark• of the first period as Ashley
Fer er's shot cleanly beat Derek Hoggarth
in thb Clinton net.
Clinton's Shawn Chipchase tied the score
at 1 - 1 in the second period after taking a
pass from Jason Carter to blister a hard
wrist shot through the legs of the Durham
goalie. With 1:49 remaining in the period„
Chipchase scored from a scramble in front
of the Durham net. Jason Carter and Scott
Jewitt also earned assists on the goal. But,
soon after the Clinton goal, Durhm tied the
score at 2 - 2.
Entering the third period tied at 2 - 2, Clin-
ton began to take the game to their opposi-
tion as they came up with excellent scoring
opportunities. Scott Rathwell finally cashed
in for Clinton as he broke away in the clear
to deke the goalie for the eventual game
winning goal at 9:34. With just under three
minutes left in the game, Chris Kennedy,
with Shawn Chipchase assisting put the ic-
ing on the cake for the Clinton crew.
By winning the championship each Atom
player received a pennant and a crest. Scott
Jewitt, through his excellent two-day efforts
in the tournament, received the Most
Valuable Player Award of the. tournament.
