By KELLY BLACK

"It's only seven more days until
Christmas. We'd better get a tree, Dad."
"Oh yes. I forgot."
"You're always forgetting important
things."
"Yes I do, don't I''"
:Well you'd better go to sleep and in the
morning we will go and get one."
In the morning they didn't get one.
Butthat night father went out and got a
small evergreen tree.
When I got home I was happy because the
other trees who were bigger than me and
stronger than me were not chosen.
The children were sad because they didn't
know that there was a Christmas tree
downstairs.
Tomorrow was Christmas day. The
children heard ghillies from the reindeers
and a "Ho, ho, tio, Merry Christmas!" And
then all of a sudden they heard the chimes.
Then•all was quiet.
The children quietly crept downstairs. I
saw them ripping Open some of the presetrts.
They were excited and so was I because
they put a star on top of me and put decora-
tions on my branches. •

Christmas tree

If I were a Christmas tree I would feel as
happy as the boys and.girls feel when they
open their presents on Christmas Day, and
when they are playing with their new toys
and their new coat too.

• I think a Christmas tree would feel sad
When he got chopped down. But when the
people decorated him he would feel better,
because' they would celebrate. So it would
make hire happy.
