The children hear chimes By KELLY BLACK Blyth Public School Grade 3 "It's only seven more days until Christmas. We'd better get a tree, Dad." "Oh yes. I forgot." "You're always forgetting important things." "Yes I do, don't I''" :Well you'd better go to sleep and in the morning we will go and get one." In the morning they didn't get one. Butthat night father went out and got a small evergreen tree. When I got home I was happy because the other trees who were bigger than me and stronger than me were not chosen. The children were sad because they didn't know that there was a Christmas tree downstairs. Tomorrow was Christmas day. The children heard ghillies from the reindeers and a "Ho, ho, tio, Merry Christmas!" And then all of a sudden they heard the chimes. Then•all was quiet. The children quietly crept downstairs. I saw them ripping Open some of the presetrts. Ile took the little Christmas tree to his house and he put. Christmas balls and lights on it. The next morning there were presents under the Christmas tree. The tree was happy to see the presents under I the under hire, and then he was happy to see the children opening the Christmas presents. Two days atter Christmas he got thrown outside.
