School's Christmas Concert highly rated
3y Kathy Bromley
BLYTH - The Blyth Christmas Concert
was held Thursday night in the gymnasium
of the Blyth Public School. The weather co-
operated with this performance, much bet-
ter than for the dress rehearsal which was
held Wednesday morning. The rehearsal
was scheduled for senior citizens or anyone
who couldn't attend Thursday night. It was
also the student's opportunity to see all of
the concert.
The junior choir, under the leadership of
Mrs. Robertson and accompanied by Mrs.
Vincient on the piano, opened the show.
They sang "A Hug Would Make My Day";
"The Night Before Christmas";
"Everywhere It's Christmas" and "I
Love"...
The kindergarten •class was next on the
agenda and their performance centered
around "Teddy Bears". They sang some
songs pertaining to teddy bears 1 everybody
had one accompanying them and did a
recital. Mrs. Hoonard is their teacher.
Grades 1 and 2 taught by Mrs. Battye and
Mrs. Little, did a play on "Christmas in the
Toy Store." Everybody was ideally dressed
to represent numerous toys. Short •.otos
were sung by various students throup hoot
their show.
The Grade 3 and 4 entertained with
"Christmas in Other Lands" and showed
various ways of celebrating Christmas and
how it varied from country to country.
The Grade 2 class then played -London
Bridge" and "Jingle Bells" by means of
something many of us can remember play-
ing in -"Rhythm Band".
Sweet .Season
Warm thanks for your
goodwill and support.
• Happy Christmas to all!

The senior choir, under the direction of
Mrs. Little, sang "When I'm Singing this
Song", "Happiest Time of the Year",
"Twelve Days After Christmas" "Little
Sheep of Bethlehem", "You Needed Me"
and "0 Holy Night".
The final performance for the evening
was "Christmas In Oz", done by the Grade 5
to 8. Numerous solos were sung throughout
it.
Much time and effort obviously had been
devoted to this concert by both the teachers
and the students. The colourful costumes
and detailed settings also made the concert
the highly rated evening that it was.
