Margarine does not have to melt. Gradually add liquid mixture to flour/yeast mixture, beating for 2 minutes at medium speed of an electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally. Add 2 eggs and 1 cup more flour, or enough flour to make a thick batter. Beat at high speed minutes, scraping bowl ionally. Stir in enough our to make a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth and elastic (8 to 10 minutes). Cover dough and let rise in a warm, draft -free place until doubled in bulk (about 50 minutes). Punch down dough and turn out onto a lightly floured board, Knead in citron, raisins and chopped almonds until well distributed. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces and set 2 pieces aside. Repeat process with two pieces of reserved dough. You will now have two loaves, each consisting of three stacked braids, largest braid on the bottom. Cover loaves and let rise in a warm, draft -free place until they are doubled (about 1 •hour). Beat remaining egg and 1 tablespoon water together until well blended and brush braided loaves with mixture. Decorate loaves with whole almonds and bake at 375F for 35 minutes, or until done. Remove from pan; cool on a wire rack. If desired, dribble with confectioners' sugar frosting. Slice and serve. Yield: one I0 -inch sweet bread.
