An Evening of Festive Music was presented by Central Huron Secondary School (CHSS) students on December 6. Both instrumental and vocal music put the large crowd into the Christmas spirit. One of the groups performing for the crowd was the brass quintet. Also performing was the music 1G class, the CHSS choir, ensemble, band and girls chorus. ( Anne Narejko photo) CHSS starts newspaper Did you know that Central Huron Secon- dary School ( CRSS 1 has its own newspaper? Well, it does! The Chronicle is a student -run newspaper. Under the guidance of staff advisor Ms. Newington and editors Gwen Holland and Bonnie Turner, approximately 40 members work to produce four to five impressive issues a year. This may not seem like many, •but considering the money, time and effort spent on each issue, putting out this number of issues is a rather amazing feat. Funded by students' counciland the ads sold to local businesses, the Chronicle is given free to each student and staff member. Within the pages are found news, sports and entertainmentlarticles, by utibb stu- dent reporters, photographs by the photography club, comics and artwork, and of course advertisements. The articles are written br students, typeset by the Clinton Commercial Printers, laid out and organiz- ed by club' members, and finally printed in Goderich by Signal -Star. As can be seen, the paper not only informs and entertains CHSS students and staff; but it also provides a "hands-on" learning ex- perience in newspaper production for- club members. The Chronicle is an important part of school life for CHSS. The school hopes that you may be able to obtain a copy, and see how much is really happening at your town's high school.
