Does the motor turn over and die — or seem to? According to tha experts, ninety percent of auto engine wear is caused by cold starts. They point out that one cold start produces the equivalent of 2,000 miles of over -the -road engine wear. When translated into vehicle life expec- tancy, this means that the family vehicle could rack up over 200,000 miles of engine wear in just one average 20 -week cold season, with one cold start per day. A practical and economical solution to the problem of cold engine starts is offered by Teinro, a major Canadian manufac- turer of automotive heating and starting aids. The use of any one — or any combina- tion — of these not only eliminates the frustration of cold starts but results in positive benefits for the engine.
