limbs. So we decided to eat.
Coolers and picnics are
forbidden in the parks, I suppose
because the colors, food choices
and eating utensils would not be
in keeping with the theme, So
we lined up once again, behind
scores of other starving
adventurers, to purchase real
nourishment.
Instead we came out with cold
hot dogs, soggy fries and
unfizzed sodas in cups without
ice. The cost of this fare rivaled
that of our anniversary lobster
dinner.
We sat to digest our meal in
an auditorium the size of a
football field where we were
exposed t Broadway -•- kiddie
style. Young theater hopefuls
danced their tap shoes off and
sang until tears came to my
eyes.
And lest we not forget this
day of memories, each of us
bought an appropriate T-shirt to
remind us of the fun each time
we wore, washed or dug it out
from under a bed. "I Survived
the Horny Toad Monster" was
our son's choice, complete with
gory depictions of some of those
who had not.
A rainbow -splattered "King's
Wild Water Gardens" was' the
well- considered choice of our
daughter
Both my husband and I
considered "I'm With Stupid"
but ended up with "It's Over —
Until Next Year."
