MIDDLETON - Communion was observed
in St. James' Anglican Church on November
3. Leeanne Wanunes as altar girl assisted

the Epistle. Bill Steenstra received the of-
fering. ,
November 24 has been set aside for Even-
• song at St. James' at which time the new
outdoor illuminated sign will be dedicated

November 14 the Anglican Church Women
will meet at the home of Estelle Wise in
Holmesville. All pennies must be in by
November 10, and members are reminded
that those who have not donated to the
bakeless sales must turn their monies in to
Lois Wise.
The Confirmation Service at Trinity Chur-
ch, Bayfield, was well attended. Hilda Bell
presented her group to be confirmed, in -
Remembrance Day
services set for Nov. 10
VARNA - Remembrance Day• will be
observed Sunday November 10 in Varna
beginning with a church service at 10 a.m,,
followed, by a service at the Cenotaph at
10:45.
The international Year of Youth was
celebrated with a special church service on
November 3. A playlet about Christian•faith
and God's involvement in historical events
was presented, by Jacqui Taylor, Leslie
Linfield, Darryn McAsh and Scott Kirkton.

Ian Deslauriers, who is an active layman
in Wingharn United Church and a leader in
youth groups and camps, led in the singing
of songs. Ian works for the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority.
Rev. Brow;,, egrets that she was unaware
that the school choir was singing at
Egmondville Church's 150th Anniversary.
She would have scheduled this special
service for another Sunday, as several of the
young people and their parents were unable
to attend.
Wilfred Chuter attended the wedding of
his granddaughter Lisa Boyce in Richards
Memorial United Church on Clarke
Sideroad in London on Saturday. She
marri.ed,Gerald Poczik. The reception was,
held in the Budapest Dining Room.
Harvey Hayter was admitted to Clinton
Hospital on Friday, having suffered a heart
attack the previous Sunday. He is doing well
and should soon he home.

Readers for the service were Greta Du
Roulay, Blanche Deeves, and Gordon
Graham. •
Following the service presentations and
awards were given and were presented by
Bishop Robinson on behalf of the congrega-
tion. The first annual presentation of the
Deane Jesson Memorial Award for
academic for excellence to be presented an-
nually went to Carol Ann Wain. Hilda Bell ,
gave a special award for the Neatest Note
Book to confirmation graduate William
Joseph Storey. A Mystery Presentation by
the Bishop was given to Katy Reid for her 60
years service to the Chancel Guild.
Pat Hodgins (nee Wise), daughter of Ray
and Estelle, celebrated a birthday recently.
Lois and Edward celebrated their 34th
wedding anniversary on the weekend With a
dinner at Robindale's Fine Dining. .
Rev. Bill Bennett, former rector at St.
James, is in Victoria Hospital,. South Street,
London.
